The guy is just a moronic little kid. He'll notice someday that when people "grow up" they still have things they like to do in their free time, i.e. playing games, sports, watching TV... The mere fact that you happend to be 25, 35 or heck, 55, doesn't mean you start wearing slippers around the house and that instantly your only favorite activity is reading the financial section of The Times. Honestly, if that kiddo thinks that's what being an Adult (capitalization intentional) is all about, then I pity him, for his life will be a perfect picture of never-ending mediocricy and boredom.

- if u r over 19 and still play video games u need to get a life
maybe when the kids who are saying this crap get as old as all of us, they will realize that this game is something that we do for fun to relieve our stress from our real lives. it isn't our lives, it's just a convenient distraction from it. also, i would like to agree with everyone who said that adults are the market for these games. we buy the $4000 systems and all the newest games.... and if we are nice enough, we'll buy the same for our kids, but if i found out my kids acted this way towards adults, their elders, i would yank away every privilage that they had and make them learn some respect. sorry to crush your whole existence, but the world doesn't revolve around you.
LIKE F*CK, thats my opinion
What's a "life" anyway? That's all matter of opinion. People making statements like the title of this thread have an askewed look on the subject. They only see "life" as they live it and how society deems it to be. If you follow that way of thinking, then it's obvious how one would come up with such a stupid statement as this thread.
So true. Singapore is damn near expensive to "own" property. Renting is costly too. I have a brother-in-law who lives in Singapore.RSI_paratrooper wrote:

As for me. 38, six-figure salary, wife, two young boys. Own one house in L.A. in a gated community, own one house in San Diego in a master-planned community with the homes built around an 18-hole golf course. I also have joint-tenancy on another home in L.A. Total equity over $1 Million dollars. Six-figure 401K. College funds for my kids. Eldest son goes to private school. We're aiming for USC or Cal Tech.
I'm been to Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Philippines. Been to Hawaii, Nevada, Arizona, Georgia, Connecticut, New York, Tennessee, Colorado. Once my youngest gets old enough, we'll be off to Europe, visiting relatives in the UK.
We go to Disneyland/California Adventure, Knotts Berry Farm, LA Zoo, Universal Studios, Sea World, and Legoland every year because they are all within reasonable driving distance.
One family PC. One PC for my eldest son. One very secured PC. One dedicated gaming rig. Building a new gaming rig for my eldest. I could easily afford a $10K gaming rig, but don't need it.
I'm been gaming since Pong came out. My wife doesn't really game, but she gives me my space. And I'll continue to game until my hands can no longer type. I really only game after the kids are asleep ,and spent some quality time with my wife.
This thread is still going???
If people over 19 didnt play games, then you kids would not have any games to play. Who do you think makes them?
I am 30, a professional firefighter, and play games almost daily.

I have a great life, a beautiful wife and a baby girl on the way. I love to play video games. There is no better way to unwind after a long hard day at work then to blow something up in BF2. It's fun. It doesn't matter what age you are.Sgt.Gene wrote:

I like this kind of topics. What a great way to provoke those moronic, yet amusing comments from such characters as Sgt.Gene. Although, reading this stuff hurts my eyes because of the lack of capital letters...

bunch of lil kids bitching..... films with tivo*
Congrats on you being a dad-to-be. The first year though will put a damper on your gaming. Instead of red-eyes from lack of sleep due to gaming, it'll be the attention time you spend with your daughter at 12am, 2am, and 4am in the morning. I've been through it twice. And to think, I still want a daughter.[zulu]steviep831 wrote:

I used to make video games for a living .I did it for 5 years . Does that means I can't play the games I make ? How about testing them ? OMG !!!! You just got served !Sgt.Gene wrote:

im 22 and still play games. i dont give a sh*t what anyone thinks. Most ppl i know play them as well. its just the day and age we live in.
sh*t i remember Super Mario Brothers and how crazy i thought that game was back in 1984.lol. now look at what there is to play. its no surprise the age of gamers is older than it used to be. mature games have brought a lot of ppl who had F-ed off video games back into the scene.lol

13 noob with crap station here but not for long!!
brainless coment for a inmature and insecure teenager..
end this madness now, we all know most people who play PC games are grown ass adults
I just had to post to this nonsense. 19? are you serious? once lil kids reach 19 (how old i am now) you will realize "f*ck. i don't feel any older, I just have more responsibility" like keeping a decent job and attending college. To think that people 19 and older are too old for videogames is like saying that your too young to be playing poker. It's just not true. And the misconception that tons of gamers live in their parents basement and are what.. 27+? Is probably the lowest percentage of gamer profiles out there. When your older and have your 1.5 kids and a wife who is always logging countless hours on eBay and suckin' your bank dry. The alternate reality worlds that videogames present to you start lookin' like that 50lb overweight waitress after 3 shots of Grey Goose and a Guinness. And if you don't understand that, well I guess that's the privilege of being a 19 yr ol' gamer.

Im not even going to attempt going thru 14 pages of rant. The OP only posed a question to us, that may or may not be his/her opinon.
I would have to say that anyone that thinks that statement is true is severely out of touch with the times. Most of the game makers are around my age ( 29 ) well over 19. A lot of us playing today are the kids that played these games with sticks and plastic toys in our backyards back in the early 80s. Finally our imaginations manifest into something somewhat tangilble. Although playing Army & Swordsman I didn't imagine TKers and griefers.

Ok, I read the first page and to be honest I really couldn't stand to read anymore. SgtGene....LOL if you where my kid I'd yank your computer faster than you could say fuktard. My guess would be that your about 14 to 16 in age, mommy and daddy pay for your shit, you have little to no life experiance and yet feel you have to impress the very limited view of the world onto the rest of us. If your not a kid...well I think you'd be setting yourself up for one hell of a insult because then you obviously don;t have the mental capacity or maturity of an adult.
Another words, go back and use you O so Leet skill and let the adults and emotionally mature youngens talk...
27 here, love gaming, married with 2 kids, got a great job...if anything gaming is for those over 18 who are trying to have a good time and save money. I find I don;t spend $50 to $70 drinking on the weekend when I game and I have just as much fun minus the hang over. Anyway, can't go out as often with kids.

You're the man! I get major satisfaction from the thought of popping little smacktards like the one who started this thread in the skull from 300m.... and he didn't even know it was comingIlocano wrote:

Well if people above 19 wouldn't play games you wouldn't really have good games to start with so be thankfull that we are buying the games a lot more than you kids do.
Btw I'm soon gonna be 20 but I still love to play and most likely always will. It's because you can do a whole lot more in the games than you can do in real life without getting yourself in danger(I'm talking about using guns now and blowing things up). Though I still gonna do some things in real life like, try to get into a chopper and other such things.
Also it's because we can kill you guys over and over and just feel good about it. ^_^ It's also a good way to take off the stress, well sometimes it is.

I promise these little f'ers are going to the exact people still playing videogames when they're 30. I thought the same thing when I was in my teens. I said games are for kids and only old losers play them. It was a short sighted thought. Now I see the light. What is the light? The light is my $5k Alienware system I use to fill you pre-algebra, spelling bee a$$es with lead. You know WHY I have that? Mommy and daddy didn't buy it for me... I work and make a lot of money and can buy those types of grown up things with cash. So do your homework, be nice to mommy and daddy (so you keep getting nice computers), go to college, and don't get any girls pregnant.

okidoke - I`m the senior in this forum with 35 years. In my normal life I work as a radio DJ - and believe me - it`s more boring than BF2 : ))
And I find it very cool if guys like my father (60years) still keep the inner child alive and play....
why not???
the average german watches 3h TV each day - I don`t watch I ´m playing - exeption: soccer and news!
But sometimes I feel old in BF2 - when I´m commander and I have Squadleaders in the middle of puberty with very high voices : )) But they accept every order - if you have a very deep voice - like their fathers : )
