Wow, I'm just full of news today..

http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/21/rumor … i-setting/

So, those who said they wanted CoD: 2142...you may very well have your wish.

Personally, I'd love to have a Starship Troopers-esque game sans the bugs with Humans v. Humans.

Could be good.

There arent many fun sci-fi shooters with the pace of CoD.

They said the same about CoD4 though, so..

We'll see. Hey, it's not like Sci-Fi games can't exceed.

Erm, no...that's for CoD 5: World at War. Made by Treyarch, not Infinity Ward.

Because Starsiege Tribes was so fucking unpopular, Freelancer was a lousy game and Quake 2 was an absolute flop. Oh, did I mention Doom, X-Com and Starcraft? Unreal/UT? Command & f*ckin Conquer? The Star Wars: Dark Forces series? And what about Half-Life? And what about this Crysis thing that everyone's trying to OC their computers for? Nobody's ever heard of those...yeah. Shit, I could just keep editing in more titles as they occur to me every two seconds, but I gotta get to work.

Wouldn't mind seeing a WH40K shooter though. Preferably one with better gameplay than Firewarrior.

Apparentely your horrible attempt at portraying sarcasm to others and the lack of realization that even if it was successful, not realizing that sarcasm doesn't carry well over the internet nor can others detect it.

But hey, what can you do.

Sorry, it's 11:30. My srs bzns time.

You think they be fucking done with e WW2 era, for god sake try something new instead of going back to old style. Why not stick to Modern war or further ahead, and 2142 fail? Come on it had more balance than BF2 and you trash it for that =/
Sure WW was fun for the first time but after 165 times its getting pretty fucking tiring, Just shows they really can't make something new but have to take history.

Ofcourse you would never se a game where you are a japanese or chinese from the start and kill americans.

If you don't like WWII era games, then don't buy it.

WWII is still an interesting theater if they move out of the 'success formula' (Meaning: beach map, church map, hedgerow map).
The Pacific would be an interesting theater, were it not that COD5 is made by Treyarch, which is auto-fail.

As for a Sci-Fi setting, it would depend on the exact setting. For as 2142 is still earthbound (no space crap) I would have no problems with a 2142 like setting (think: complete derailed world due to an Islamic crusade into Europe/Asia). What I would like to see is that war through the eyes of an European solder, an Israeli soldier and an American when all hell breaks loose .

I'll wait this one out. As BF3 will be released around the same time as CoD6 (perhaps Christmas '08? As Christmas = Many $$$$$).
