It's pretty awesome. I hit a sniper with a flare from the other side of 2fort. I miss the flame, shotgun tactic though, I don't think I'd use the flare gun. Might be good with the Axetinguisher.
Flare Gun is immense fun. However splash damage isn't much tbh. I would only use it for the achievement..

I've got 25 achievements already haha they are so much easier than the medic ones. Guess it helps when you have friends too...

eh at the soldier "nerf" now they are going to think they are underpowered, even though they still kill nearly all classes in 2 poorly aimed shots. I got all the achievments, got half playing properly, then i coudlnt find a server without people doing achievments and just joined in. the flare gun is good, shit against other pyro's though, and havnt used much of the others.

Flare gun is awesome for harassing snipers.

I've played for a couple of hours - haven't used Pyro since the patch came out. There's so damn many of them it seems pointless.
However, it's a great time for the humble Sniper. No-one wants to go Spy so we're fairly safe from backstabs. The only risk is Flares and generally you're close enough to health to counter that. Pyros do sneak up behind you and when thy do that you're more-or-less fucked but really I've been shooting Pyros like there's no tomorrow.
I will go Pyro and get the achievements when the whole "Pyro-rush" dies down a bit. I don't want to go on Achievements servers, there's really no point now that you don't need to get ALL the achievements to unlock weapons.
