Havent tried Wake yet, but Shingle sucks and by far is the worst 2142 infantry map after Berlin.

Neither is better, I've gone back to the epicness that is NS and really it is the only thing keeping me playing, had 2 really good rounds on the timeless server, I doubt I'll play wake or shingle again, I've rarely even played Tampa and I like that map compared to these two
I prefer Shingle, i like sniping or assault and it is ok for both

Shingle is just a map with every building available crammed into it

Like at first there's toll booths, then military baracks, then further on I guess you could call em "Apartments"
Nothing is setup stupidly, Shingle is like the outskirts of a city with alot of buildings.
EDIT:
Both maps are alot of fun when playing with friends or a clan. But Shingle gets my vote, you can't solo on that map, you really need a good squad to get anywhere.
