Wright and Pfleger have said some dumbass things that only hurt Obama, and you refuse to acknowledge that he associates himself with these men? I doubt you know that Obama gave a 25K donation to this church, to pay these assholes salaries.
That's funny. I couldn't find the part where Hillary said that she went to his church for several years.Kmarion wrote:

That didn't make any sense. Care to elaborate?liquix wrote:

close friend and mentor? thought he was just a visiting priest and has his own catholic parish that obama has no connection to. but thats just me looking at the facts instead of jumping to conclusions. who knows, manipulating the way facts are presented to present your own point of view even when those facts are divorced with reality has been a pretty common theme in the media today.

Question: When President Obama chooses people to appoint as Federal judges, Attorney General, Secretary of State, and the head of FEMA (lol)--will the people he picks be better than the pastors he has chosen to work with?ABC News wrote:
But Obama's relationship with Pfleger -- who is the priest at a different, Catholic, church -- spans decades.
In September, the Obama campaign brought Pfleger to Iowa to host one of several interfaith forums for the campaign. Pfleger has given money to Obama's campaigns and Obama as a state legislator directed at least $225,000 towards social programs at St. Sabina's, according to the Chicago Tribune. Pfleger appears to have been scrubbed from the Obama campaign's page that features the testimony of faith leaders, but you can see the cached version HERE.

What bothers me about this whole deal is that Obama withdraws from the church in a statement so he doesn't want to bring the church down or denigrate it in anyway. He makes it sound like he's doing everyone a favor because he wants to repect the views and privacy of the other members of the church, due to undue media attention.
Privacy and media attention...Yep, they're probably pretty worried privacy...considering the church streams its sermons on the web.

I happen to dislike the evangelicals that are connected with the current administration than any reverend wright or pastor phlegm. You see what Im saying.san4 wrote:

so you people are comfortable with the likes of pat robertson and hagee and falwell? thats is exactly what you are talking about.
The day people vote for a president because of someone's church or pastor is the day you should all leave the country... cuz the crusades v2.0 ain't too far away.
supposedly, the argument is not the faith part but the radicalism part. but, as Im reading, people here seem to only have a problem with radicals they dont agree with, the ones they agree with are fine.
Show me a candidate or a President who attended the churches run by Pat Robertson, Hagee or Falwell for 20 years. While you're at it, show me a candidate who has had dinner at the house of an American citizen who declared war against the United States.God Save the Queen wrote:

what exactly do you think is going to happen if he becomes president? I could tell the fear card gets played pretty effectively with you.
What about the fact that most presidents for the past few decades have looked to Billy Graham for spiritual enlightenment?san4 wrote:

If anything, radical religion has been a cancer for this country's leadership for quite some time.
I think President Obama will appoint people who have radical beliefs to important government positions.God Save the Queen wrote:

Like Bush did, right?san4 wrote:

is it any better (or worse) than appointing incompetant friends at top positions.
Not sure what that's getting at. I don't think President Bush knows anyone who believes the US Government created the AIDS virus to kill black people.Turquoise wrote:

Why does that matter? If Obama's appointments are as bad as the incompetent friends Bush appointed, that isn't exactly a reason to elect Obama. In any case, giving government power to people with radical views could be worse.God Save the Queen wrote:
