Sounds like your data connection speed to the internet is not fast enough. What is your speed and how are you connecting (wireless, cable modem, dsl, etc.)
Wireless connections and gaming don't match well, no matter how close you are to the router. Plug directly into your router, you'll get a much faster connection.
It also depends on what Internet Service package you purchased. It's usually best to spring for the fastest if you have the buck.
Well, normally I would say that TopHat01 is correct, but that speed shouldn't be a problem ... even on wireless (unless you have some interference, but you say you are speed testing to 6.5mb).
I'm wondering if you have a process running that is severely taking up resources every 30 seconds - for example, anti-virus software or backup software.
the highest process being used other than bf2 is Client server runtime process using 5,856, but i noticed there also ~e5.0001, which i remember i had ages ago, and i think that causes some problems
