Ok, many reps. From 8-12. Heavy wheights and few reps just work out your mucles fibres type 2B and makes more of them. They are the hardest to build actually. If you want to be explosively stong and big (not defined), that's the way to go. You want to work out your type 2A fibres, to look defined and clearly see your muscles, right?

Free wheights, many reps, and creatine yes, works out pretty well. If you use creatine, remember to drink a lot of water. Maybe your genetics wont let you have a musculer (spelling?) body. It's easier to increase type 1 fibers. Not so explosive but endurent fibers.

There are many programs. I usually do upper and lower body every other day. Have at least one day rest before you work out the same muscle again. There are no need to use protein shakes or other crap. IF you eat well and balanced, you get all the proteins, fat, carbs, minerals and vitamins you need. Both essential and non-essential vitamins. Of course, if you don't... then it's not a bad idea.

Remember, if you want to look defined, you need to reduce your body fat. Since you said you are thin, then that's probably not a problem right now. The first place fat is stored and last place fat is burned, is from your stomach area.

Read this article named skinny mans guide to bulking up http://www.myprotein.co.uk/?page=article&id=102.
Seems like you do quite a few exercises for each body part I'd say cut down on the exercises. Maybe incline bench press and then dumb bell flyes? Being honest after I've done all my sets on the chest I literally cannot do a press up.

If you look at the article I've linked to he does very few types. Squats, deadlift and military are the key ones.

If your like me you cant. I eat 2.5kg of meat a week, 2kg of carbs, a very large amount of vegetables and fruit, and im still pretty damn thin, all my working out it is doing is making me more toned and not actually adding mass.

I just have a stupidly fast metabolism which i suspect you may too.

Only upper-body???

Hahaha, I love it when you see these guys walking around thinking they're all buff and they're supported by two little twigs.

As for the gaining weight issue, maybe that's just the way your body is? Some people can gain weight easily up to a point, then they just stop.

Wow haha can't believe I didn't notice that too, your body grows naturally in proportion do your legs and everything else will grow faster too.

I've been working out since January, regularly but nothing to strenuous and I recently got a job at a health club. For the first month I worked out 3 days a week....all of my upper body. (In all I've been casually lifting for about 3-4 months and hardcore for about 2) In the following month, I've worked out 5 days a week, my schedule looking something like this:

Monday - Chest/Back/Lats/Abs
Tuesday - Biceps/Triceps/Forearms
Wednesday - Chest/Triceps/Abs
Thursday -  Back/Lats/Forearms

Saturday - Biceps/Triceps/Abs

I work out hard, really strenuous and on various machines and free wieghts....but I can't seem to gain any weight. I eat healthy, I add whey protein to my drinks, and most of the time I get the correct amount of sleep. I just cant put on weight.

I have a naturally thin build, but I'm very athletic at 6 foot 155 pounds and I'm 20 years old.

How do I bulk up and get big/stronger? What more do I have to do?
First of all, you're not going to see mind-blowing results in just 3-4 months. Your main problem is you're not giving your muscles any rest. Aside from Friday and Sunday, you're using your arms every single day. You need to break up your work out by muscle group. Try this instead: alternate days of chest/triceps/shoulders (you really need to do shoulders), back/biceps/abs, and lower body. You don't really need a forearm day, but can do a little for them every day because they're built differently than other muscles.

Heavy weights/Low reps lots of carbs and for the love of god work out your Legs.. It sounds like you're working out too much which will make your muscles means and stringy not big.. Cut your working out time down to 3 times a day about 30 mins a day with the most weight you can do with out straining yourself..

You should be able to put weight on..

Me and a friend work out 3 times a week, he goes 6x a week sometimes. I've been going for 8 months and have noticed a lot of improvement, my friend has been going for 2 years and is just way too strong. Here's what I've learned:

Do a full body workout every other day or split it up into separate groups for every day. The groups must not overlap at all, or you will not give your body a chance to recover and thus grow.
Do exercises in order from largest muscle groups to smallest. Start off with doing exercises for your upper legs and arms+back, then work your way outwards. Smaller, single muscles always go last. 2x15 reps per exercise.
Do your exercises slowly.
Do enough exercises: get it right and youll feel it the day after, but don't go too far. Don't do more than 1-1,5 hours at a time.

And drink a lot of water

you require moar food. I started working out a lot too, and I've gotten a lot stronger but I've only recently started getting bigger. Because up until around halfway thorough I was only eating maintenance calories (about 2400 a day). Now it's at around 3000 a day and my muscles are getting bigger

This is my split

Monday: Chest and triceps
Wednesday: Biceps and back
Friday: Legs and shoulders

Abs every workout.

@liquix I thought steroids were illegal?

Chicken, tuna, and steak. Chicken/tuna is really cheap and very high protein.
