ugh, but it wasn't easy.

First of all, I ordered it from Overclockers.co.uk. Not a good move.

I ordered it April 07, and Overclockers sent it April 17. Not that bad.

But then they handed it over to the Norwegian Toll/Post office.

Holy Fuck.

It took them 12 days to call and ask how much it cost. Then it took a week to register how much it cost, and then I had to go pick it up at the post office because the guy with the post route was sick, and they had nobody else to do it.

So I ordered it on April 07, and recieved it on May 08. Ugh.

But yeah, I got it.

The mobo looked fucking awesome, but I couldn't fit my Zalman CPU cooler between the heatsink, so I had to use the stock cooler which is a fucking pain to mount to the mobo, and pretty much sucks. Then I found out that these fancy S775's use an own cable for CPU power which of course my PSU didn't have (see thread), so I went out and bought a new PSU (corsair 450W). I had to take out my PSU and unfasten all my epic cable management, and replace it with this PSU which is much better, but a bitch when it comes to cable management. I also didn't think of saving the other back plates when I built my old PC, and of course, this mobo had a different back then my previous one.

And now, the current problem, I can't find my Vista install disk

Oh well, at least it works now. Pics:

I'll get a new cooler some time, but can't be assed now. Now I need to find my Vista CD D:

No beeps when you start up tends to mean it has not picked up the GPU so the card was ether dead or didnt have the power.

Well done for fixing it tho!

Well done DU for telling me what to do

The no beep was because of the CPU not getting power, lulz.

Congrats man, I remember you writing stuff on aasiee with your iTouch

I also built my first pc some time ago, I had problems with my shit cooler. If you ever want to get a new one I suggest you a FreezerPro7, they're really good even though the forum member is annoying.

Anyway, have fun gaming

Yes, most of my posts here have been on my iPod the last couple of months

Alpha has the same mobo and uses the Zalman 9700NT, so I'm gonna try that in a while.

Awesom.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Glad you've fixed it!

Word of advice, dont do cable management until your pc actually works

tbh, I used most of my time without PC doing cable management etc, waiting for it.

And then I had to throw it all away

Ah well, I'll work a little on the cables later.

WHAT?!  Extra CPU cable?  My fucking PS better have it!

Someone check and tell me.  I have the OCZ StealthXStream 600W.

edit: btw, the I/O shield didn't come with the mobo?  strange.

He's just talking about the 4-pin ATX cable. Yes, your PSU has it.

Hold on, the 4 pin ATX cable as in, square configuration, 2 are half circle, half square and the other 2 are square?  Don't all mobos require that anyway?

I didn't know that was new stuff.

edit: Oh yeah, I have it.  Got nervous there.  So there's a 4 pin connector for the mobo itself, and the CPU 4 pin connector.  Learned something new.

Open box.

edit - @haffey, not new, but my S939 didn't need it.

The ATX 20+4 connector is rather new, since about 2004. The 4-pin ATX CPU connector, though, has been around since the late 90's.

Only teasing about the back i/o shield. I've got exactly the same problem with one of mine (was open box aswell but not from overclockers).
