i am so sick of people who run in front of me when i am support, we come round a corner and run into some enemy soldiers, so having the big gear i lay down cover fire to allow my teammates to get some cover but instead some people decide to run in front of me, no prizes for guessing what happens when someone gets hit by half a dozen rounds close range, then they punish me. if you were fighting in real war would you run in front of someone who was unloading full bore??
AMEN BROTHUH!
I totally agree. I have the same problem when driving. I would have thought people were taught as kids to not go running out in the street without looking both ways, or seeing the vehicle and continue running into it's path.

Wouldn't it be good if you could punish them for being an idiot and running in front of you.. hmm i think i could be onto something
no i think EA might be on to something. since they are working hard to revamp the punishment system including the unecessary TK punishing and TK punishing when it was the victim's fault.Jims50cal wrote:

Really? perfect, hopefully we'll see this in the next patch, or shortly there after.
We finds out in 2 days
i like what i read about not getting tks for artillery as commander, not that in my 5 minutes as a commander i got any.
They probably wouldMr_Sinistero wrote:

About time. I get fed up with punishers that do it automatically when it was so obviously their fault... To be honest, unless the TKer is doing it on purpose, I believe the 'punish' feature should be removed. We've already lost points, we don't need some lame brain making us feel worse.bluehavoc8686 wrote:

I've TKd about 60, none on purpose. Colour glitch, accidental vehicle kill, accidental fire (when they walk in front of you unloading a clip on a RED). Of the 60 or so TKs, I've been punished 90%.
well, I hate to disagree on this one. Artillery can be usefull, but it has happened to me more than once that I am taking over a flag by my poor self and then my commander decides he is gonna help me with artillery at my location though no enemies are near me... Then I get upset and frustrated when it comes to artillery and I will punish him, otherwise if his decision to use it is valid I won't.Mr_Sinistero wrote:

And about those punishments for people hwo run in front of your vehicle: those are most of the time idiots! What do they think? That my APC has park distance control or an anti-lock system??

That's a pretty rare case. More typical case: commander calls in arty strike on enemy CP expecting team to wait for it to finish and then rush in to take the base. Moron squad in truck drives directly into incoming arty. Commander gets punished. The Straight Truth: there is absolutely no excuse for getting killed by your own arty. You have a map on your HUD... use it. And if you do get killed by it, no way in hell you should punish. Why would your commander intentionally waste an arty strike on your TK?Worf of Borg wrote:

60? I'm close to 300. Check out my commander stats if you want to know why. Almost never shot a team mate, but they just keep running into those arty strikes no matter how much I warn. My nick is the same as in here.thinner44 wrote:

all i can say to the ppl who punish ppl for there mistake is
NOOOB
NOOOB
Actually I've been killed by one or two pretty lame arty strikes, so I'm not gonna say there's NO excuse. 99% of the time its probably not the commanders fault, but I get REAL annoyed when he calls in arty during the middle of a firefight and then gets mad that we "didn't get out of the there." If you are in a firefight you can't simply leave your cover and say "sorry guys, gotta go, we're shelling this place in a few seconds." Either way your dead, and I'm gonna try to take down as many of them as I can before I go. Don't call in artillery if there are friendlies ALREADY there, and you'll never get a punish from me. Actually, you never will anyway, I forgive 100% of the time hoping my karma will improve and ONCE someone will return the favor. After countless hours of play I have almost 90 tks, most of which were vehicle strikes or pure stupidity by someone else. I've been forgiven like ONCE in all those times.
Oh, and whats the deal with the anti air missiles? I just read in the next patch that they are improving their effectiveness against fast movers (eat that jet whores!)... but does that still mean if you launch a spread of heatseakers at a chopper (even when its the ONLY aircraft on your whole screen) ONE MIGHT hit if your lucky and somehow the other three will all find their way to friendly vehicles? Has anyone noticed how easy it is to hit your own stuff when you have no clue where it even is, yet some slow moving transport copter, flares or not, seems to evade these things? Shouldn't friendly fire be the exception not the rule? I don't know.
Its not that I don't feel for you guys... can't be an easy job and I don't do it (zero time as commander). I'll just form up, follow my orders, and be the good grunt. Just please refrain from shelling my ass.
now here's the part were people reply saying "you're just stupid, I kill 200 jets a game with AA and have never hit a friendly. I'm the master!"

lousy artilry aim- ive seen ppl survive in the "kill zone" and not die, just standing there!
also one time i found my self in my own teem's artilery, dead center of the kill zone, i sprinted full out and survived with out a scratch.
[edit] get a target lock then pull the triger

if the target lock comment was for me... I know how AA works. NOt only do I get a target lock, but I usually wait until they drop flares, then pull the trigger.
sorry it was a simple joke, after compareing stats :p

LOL, no matter what you do or say, people just don't know what that big RED flashing circle is all about. I'm sure of one thing in this game, 50% of players are totally blind... and deaf... and stupid.bluehavoc8686 wrote:

okay,
played commander for the FIRST time today, even got my badge (gotta say though it was one of the easiest ones I've recieved)
I do sympathize with you guys more now. Even in the round I got my badge I had 28 arty kills but a fat -8 in team score do to tks. I never once called a strike in where there already were teammates.
I know what you mean, I'll shut up now!

seriously, i think people purposely run into artillery just so they can get negative points for the commander
I think people hate commanders[LFX]angus wrote:

i get sick of how almost every single round someone tries munity, regardless of how the commander is going. i have only been commander twice and both times within about 5 minutes someone had tried it, i know i am not the best around but i hadnt done anything wrong. people just get the shits about not being commander themselves, they really should just get over it.
