1 was best film ever. 2 was the worst, but still good in comparision to other dinosaur films, 3 was pretty good. Sam Neil made it pretty good.

In other news, last weekend marked the goings-on of Colorado's largest science fiction convention, StarFest. I had brought the ecto to the convention last year and was asked to park it by the entrance by staff who regretted me not telling them I was bringing it down ahead of time. They asked if it would be possible to put the cars inside the hotel for 2008, and I told them I'd be in touch.
Shauna and I arrived at the DTC Marriott around 8 the day before the con to load the cars into the hotel. For the DIAS all we had to do was drive up a ramp and into the convention center, and for the Forney Museum there was a loading area and everything.
Not so this time around.
We had to turn the cars off and push them through the main hall, down an adjacent hallway, turn them around in the atrium, and back them into their parking spots... all the while making sure the cars never touched the carpet by rolling them on plastic sheets. Pain. In. The. Ass. We even had to take the rack off of the ecto to fit it through one hallway.
Anyway, we did get them in and I spent Friday crawling under and around the cars, hand-cleaning everything from the mirrors to the wheels. Here are some pictures from the weekend, taken by other con-goers and found by me on the internets.
Personally I think seeing a 2003 Outback behind red velvet rope is a metaphor for all that is going wrong in the world... how about you? :p

Rained all day today, finally an excuse to snap on the soft top and test it out.
Found some nice foliage in a former trailer park behind a Dairy Queen, it'll have to do until I can ship the thing to Kuai and drive around, yeah?
And of course we had to go puddle-hunting! The pictures didn't turn out too well, unfortunately.
I will have the finishing touches all put on before June 16th, the anniversary of me buying the jeep and starting the project.
Still to go include:
-light bar
-winch
-mother-fucking side steps
-rear amber lamps

A friend just sent me some pictures that he took while we were pushing the Ecto through the hotel before StarFest, not something you see every day!
In addition, not much has been going on lately. I let the registration on the ecto expire since I can drive the jeep pretty much wherever I need to go. The only notable events were the Fort Collins Downtown Car Show and a little Ultimate Electronics show where I won $100. Neato.
Yup yup, spending most of my time building killdozers and giant boulders and stuff like that. I'll be getting back onto finishing the jeep this weekend when my paycheck arrives.
On a sad note, the GB mural in Denver got painted over.
