Doubletap increases ROF by 20%.

Stopping power increases bullet damage by 40%.

Which of these kills enemies quicker?

Simple math.

Take an Skorpion bullet at long range, for example. You need five body shots to get a kill. Say that, if every shot hits, the time taken to kill with it is x.

If you are shooting at 120% of your normal ROF, it only takes 5/6x to get the kill.

If you are shooting with normal ROF, but 40% damage, each bullet does 28 damage. Since you only need to shoot 4 bullets, the time it takes to kill is 4/5x.

As 4/5<5/6, SP has killed quicker than double tap.

Take, as another example, the AK-47, within its max damage. It takes three body shots to kill with this, and the time again, is x.

At 120% ROF, we again have 5/6x. It needs the same amount of shots, but only 83.3% of the time.

At 40% damage increased, with normal ROF, each bullet does 56 damage. It takes only two shots to kill with this. Since you only need 2 bullets, the time is 2/3x.

As 2/3<5/6, you again have a quicker kill.

Finally, take a M4, at 30 damage. Four body shots to kill with this are required.

At 120% ROF, we see the same 5/6x.

At 40% bullet damage, and normal ROF, we only need 3 bullets. Consequently, time is 3/4x.

As 3/4<5/6, we again see stopping power is quicker.

While this assumes you are actually aiming, I think we can see that stopping power should be used over double tap.

There might be exceptions, but this definitely works as a general rule.

Depends. DT seems to work better on slower firing weapons (IE: G-36c, StG-44), but it really comes down to what you're using the gun for. Long range, SP would be better while DT will be better suited to short rage encounters.

But that's just me.

The SAW fires fast enough without DT. Try SP for a while and see the results.

I (almost) always use SP over DT. I'd rather have each bullet be worth more, rather than having to plug more bullets to take a target down (and consequently have to waste a perk on bandolier).

Only case that I use DT is a spray and pray with the M60 + Grip + Steady Aim (which isn't exactly much spray).

Double Tap on the likes of the M16 is just crazy fun. Especially with a silencer.

Or if you like cool sound effects, I guess.

Depends on the gun/role.

Close range it really is hard to beat a p90 with double tap.

The burst shoots faster (since it is three shots.)

This has been discussed previously, (by me).

End result: DT works if you spray, more chance of hitting your target. SP works if you are more accurate.

Double tap or Stopping power= faster kills.

personally i use Double tap with my P90 assuming i got bandolier with me. no point using double tap when i have no more bullets to kill noobs.

stopping power saves ammo as well obviously, and i tend to have to pick up other peoples guns often enough without it so i leave it alone.

I always use stoping power over double tap... Takes fewer shots to kill people and saves ammo... But then again I aim at the enemy when trying to kill them, crazy isn't it??

i prefer the fact of being able to headshot in the least amount of bullets
also doubletap=less bullets, taking on multiple people will fuck you up, unless you use an LMG or P90, where then i just say you should fuck off

Even though as a SP user myself, the double tap might be able to mess up the aim of the opponent making him much harder to hit you as more bullets are spammed. In a close encounter, usually the first person who lands the first bullet to mess up the aim usually wins. Double tap might be useful in this sense.

However, as the distance increases, the less effective the DT becomes.

How do you mean mess up the aim?

As you get hit the point of aim jumps up slightly, which means that if you were aiming high up, possibly for HS, you are now using your gun as an Anti Air rifle shooting up in the sky instead of the enemy. Also, it is not that disturbing and can easily avoided normally, the red screen effect can add disadvantage, no matter how small of a disadvantage this is, in a short firefight which might only last 0.5 seconds.

Doubletap works on the machine guns, cause your not exactly going to have to worry about wasting ammo now are you?

The SAW fires fast enough without DT, and the M60 is like a 100-round M-14 with SP on it. Dunno about the RPD, I can't stand the gun.

If your spraying whole rooms, or shooting through walls dt can make a huge difference. Can't wait to get my gold m60, but headshots on machine guns requires SP or playing hardcore in most cases.

Double tap is retarded.  Double tap users are doubly retarded.
