Ya know, I went to Game Stop yesterday to browse around, looking to pick up another game to offset BF2. It's disturbing that of all the hundreds of titles out there, I wasn't interested by any of them. I mean, is it just me, or are the games just getting to be clones of one another? I mean, I looked at HL2, and while interesting, didn't spark my interest enough to want it. Is anyone else out there experiencing this? The only thing I'm looking forward to is the BF2 expansion.

Have you played the F.E.A.R. demo or can your PC not handle it?
I dunno if my PC can handle it, I'll look up the reqs. But from what I've read on it, it doesn't seem too exciting. One game that I WISH I could play again *but GF will leave so fast there'll be a dust cloud' is Planetside.
Then again, they have changed it soo much since I played last....

F.E.A.R is special. the AI of the game is amazing. Anyone who has played the demo agrees with me

yeah besides the awesome graphics, it will definitely make it on to the list of top ten scariest games... however no way it will beat Roller Coaster Tychoon in scariness factor or The Sims for that matter. The Sims scared me so bad... I peed myself.
Are you joking?! HL2 is an AMAZING game. It has the best story of any video game I have ever played... sure the multiplayer aspect of it is not as fun, but thats exactly why Counter-Strike took over as the main multiplayer mode for the hl2 engine.Miakei wrote:

For me the special forces expansion of bf2 looks totally silly. After dealing with so many issues with bf2 after it released I still have a bitter taste in my mouth, and the videos just look like they are screaming, "This game is cool because there is night vision!" Go play Splinter Cell or something if you want to feel sneaky.
I'm looking forward to quake4 and not much else. Game companies these days seem to be running out of good ideas and are definitely lacking in the common sense and customer service departments, *cough*EA*cough*
I'm looking forward to the following games:
Call of Duty 2
Age of Empires 3
Quake 4
UT2007
And any expansion packs that come out for them.
But I agree that games are basically copying each other lately. They just add and take away certain aspects, change gameplay, and graphics. Some are given storylines and others are taken away. That's pretty much how it's always been.

Mate, definately play Serious Sam 2. The demo is insane and the release date is the 23rd of Octobr (in Australia). For the demo link check Agent Oranges sigs.
This thread just makes me sad that I don't have a computer that will be able to handle these games in the future. Must save money...

Splinter Cell Chaos Theory has hit my desk recently and it's quite a bit of fun. My three games of the moment are
Splinter Cell -- Solo, slow, cautious, planned, exciting, close quarters
BF2 -- Team based, medium paced action, large open spaces
DOD:S -- Very team based, fast action, medium enclosed maps

EDIT: According to topic (gaming industry in general): All companies have one in common: they wanna earn BIIIG money.
That's a fact. Not more, not less. Imo only a few companies care about storyline, support, etc.
And EA is like Microsoft: they take over other smaller companies - two words: sole reign!
I watched the following topic since January, plz have a look:
Click here to see another evidence.....(and this is not a small company)

Only:
SmackDown! vs. RAW 2006 (yes, i actually am pathetic.)
Pro Evolution Soccer 5 (though it doesn't have much new stuff..)
Battlefield 2 v1.03 (:P)

Has anyone else noticed, but almost all the games mentioned are sequals or expansions. There's no games which aren't a part of a series. Maybe it's because we know what the company can do because it's already delivered.
I'm just waiting for:
Age of Empires 3
Call of Duty 2
Anything related to Sonic the Hedgehog
Nothing else has caught my eye really.
