Good points:

    * Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 processor
    * Comes bundled with Adobe Elements Studio (for video editing - and this is not a bad deal at all)
    * Comes bundled with wireless mouse included (and to boot one that’s much more ergonomically friendly than Apple’s Mighty Mouse)
    * Comes INCLUDED with 1-year IN-HOME warranty service. Very, very nice.
    * Comes included with DataSafe online backup for 1 year. You get 10GB’s of online backup free for one year online. Nice touch.

Not-so-good points:

    * Starting price is $1,499. The iMac is cheaper by $300.
    * Largest screen available is 20-inch. Apple offers iMac’s with 24-inch monitors. For the money you’d expect at least the option of a 24-inch.
    * No option for Windows XP. Vista only.

These things I never want, but I can imagine they run better than iMac's.. As in my opinion Apple fails at everything desktop related.

True, and for sure, I'd rather have this than a Mac.

I was wondering when a company like DELL would do this. I'm sure quite a few will buy! Looks great, but I still think the iMac looks better. Shame that it is only 20", when a lot of people's monitors are now 22" and 24".

It looks rather beefy, they should squeeze in a PCIe slot for graphics card upgrades, and they've got a winrar. I mean, That, 8800GT, LAN. That would be so leet.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

If it weren't for the fact that IBM/PC application performance is degraded on a Mac, I'd go with an iMac if I wanted a space-saver.

With a setup like this, it better have a perfect pixel guarantee.

It looks a lot prettier in design pictures than in real life pictures (Kmar's post); that actually looks pretty ugly.

I have yet to see mention of an actual video card adapter, so I wouldn't expect to game on it anyway.

Also since when was 5ms shit? I mean, it is, go CRT woot woot, but 5ms isn't that bad.

I play BF2 on a 12ms monitor with 700:1 contrast. I play CS:S on a 16ms monitor with 800:1. I don't see any problems with that. 5ms is a completely ok response time. If your monitor happens to be 2ms doesn't mean that everything over is shit.

They haven't even mentioned what video card it has. It's clearly not for gaming, even if it is branded as XPS. Besides, are you joking man. 5ms is crap?

Due to the fact that your ping will 99 times out of 100 be over 5ms I doubt that low response time is going to affect anything.

Uh... ping has absolutely nothing to do with monitor response time...

A slow response time can sometimes lead to ghosting, where previous images are "left behind" because it doesn't refresh quick enough. 5ms won't be a problem,  but something like 8+ wouldn't be that good for gaming. But if its of awesome quality then sometimes that rule is lax.

Anywho, 5ms won't effect anything except e-pen.

8ms+? Anything under 20 will work for gaming, really. I've played BF2 on a 30ms monitor from 1999, and it wasn't that horrible, really. Looks a bit like motion blur

My Shuttle had heating problems enough when I played before I got a second video card, imagine playing Crysis on that in the summer time, you'd get 10 minutes on and 90 waiting for it to cool down.
