Thank you. You know off the top of you head which config would fit best? Otherwise Im just gonna try them out. Ok, I just copied the autoexec.cfg file to the folder, it is a Notepad file, is it alright that it has all that typing and directions and stuff in it from Xgj?
Was using the Very High config, worked great until I hit the "First Light" section on the first level, then my frame rates dropped. Guess Im gonna have to use the High one.
Very high is working fine for me in vista
Looks awesome, although the indoor HDR is a bit too much IMO.

I tried your config, but I could only get maximum of 9 fps.
I used the Low config, as I've only got 2.4Ghz SingleCore P4 2GB DDR RAM and 7600GT. I was running 1280x1024 with no AA and all custom settings. I turned down to 800x600 and only got 12 fps.
Could you do a VERY VERY low system spec config??
Oh yeah, and get rid of the technogibberish at the top right, can get quite annoying..

That was a great config change for my system. 7600gt running on a dual core 3.6ghz on 2gb of ram. I'm now getting close to 80 fps on the lower settings. Ran much smoother than it normally would. Thanks alot.
And I'm finally out of the core. I had given up after getting crappy fps and lost again and again. lol

Really odd.. a lot of people are getting way better performance with low end system. You must have really sucky RAM and that CPU is bottlenecking like hell too. Might do a custom very low but no point atm as I have improved all configs and now I'm struggling with the installer for the ToD files.. I'll release it but it'll take a while More info soon.Funky_Finny wrote:

It will be able to handle my high/very high configs. I have a friend who has an overclocked 8800GT 512 G92, and he can run the new XConfig 1.3 (yes it's in beta, but not released yet) with 1650x1080 resolution and get 25-30 fps average. Must say, good results I think.colonelioan wrote:

Also Commie Killer, X is just replaced by the drive letter your Crysis installation is in.

For my rig, what would I pick - Medium or High?
edit: ah shit, ill get the specs at home later.

"people in ny have a general idea of how to drive. one of the pedals goes forward the other one prevents you from dying"
I'd say medium with that card, and try it at native resolution. If it doesn't work well scale down the resolution. If it all does work well you can try high but I think high is too much for an 8600GTS.
Yeah I knew that, just had question about the 2 different folders in the config folder, I figured it out though. Im running the High config, looks great. Runs great, at least until assault. I was heading towards the first AA gun by the bridge, still about 200m off, and when ever I look in that direction I get extreme amounts of lag, FPS drops from like 30 to like 2.xGj wrote:

On a second thought, its amazing how you can play this game at 15FPS and not notice the lag at all. Other games if Im below 25 I notice it.
Ram is at 667 Mhz..xGj wrote:

I know the CPU sucks, trying to get a 3.2/3.0 on E-bay.
I saw my processor, P4 2.4Ghz for £12.
£12!!!!!
Thanks, it's currently running at 750/1100. My 3DMark06 score was 6321, but I might try again because of a fresh install of Windows. I would go Medium too though, it's a pretty sad rig.xGj wrote:

Wow, I've no idea what you did, but the low config gave me a steady 30 FPS in the bushes so far and even 50 on the beach! I am using an AMD Athlon 3800+ (Single core) + 7600GT 256MB. So yeah I pretty happy, used to get like 30 FPS MAX.
Can't wait for 1.3
I tried the Medium, ran a lot better until I got inside the forest, dropped half the FPS.
Tried Low, water shows up black, and the particles (dust), cause a massive drop in FPS.
I'm using an EVGA 7600GT with latest Nvidia drivers.
Thanks!

Using a Xpert Vision 7600GT with the low config and everything works smoothly. 30 FPS in the woods. 40/50ish in the open parts.alexbay13 wrote:

Do you get black water too? Yeah, my FPS is about 25-30 at 1280x1024.RDMC wrote:

Question, is there a way to tone down the HDR lighting a little? Its over powering and somethings, for example part of the ammo box for the FY71 glows no matter what.
VERSION 1.3 HAS BEEN RELEASED!!
Head over to the main post for the download link! Fixed HDR too and if you might encounter black water (which I never had but I think its fixed here) edit the line q_ShaderWater = 1, to q_ShaderWater = 2 (system heavier though). But I doubt you get any glitches I actually didn't have any at all with this release.

1.2 with the High Config was still laggin pretty bad on normal levels, probably would of dropped to about 5 in the Ice levels, never got there. Not sure why as my specs are a little bit above what you specified for the High thing, must be something on my computer, anyways, downloading 1.3 now.
I <3 it. Great frame rates. Droped below 10 when I hit ice sphere though, guess I gotta use medium for that.
Can you upload to rapidshare or somewhere other than Filefront since Filefront still hates mexGj wrote:

Holy fucking crap.
I just tried this thing out, and FUCK ME IT'S LIKE I'M PLAYING A GAME FROM THE FUTURE.
It looks NOTHING LIKE Crysis on "normal" 'high'. It looks fucking amazing. I'm playing the "very high" preset you made on the following system:
AMD Dual Core 4200+
2 gigs ram
(single) 8800 GT 512 (slightly overclocked).
And the game is ACTUALLY PLAYABLE.
Before this config, the game was also playable, but only on vanilla "high". This looks fucking amazing.
For some reason though, AA on 2x is fine, but as soon as I put it on 4x, I get about 2 FPS. Weird. (1280x1024)
I just took these two screens:
