I'll soon have the Golden SVD but when I get it, I think that I'll either be using the M21, R700 or Barrett. The SVD is actually really low on my list of favorite sniper rifle.

And looking at the list of other Golden Guns I don't think that any of them are my prefered weapon of choice in that class category. The only possible exception would be the m60 which I do like.

Not counting the Gold DE cause everyone gets that regardless of headshots. But here's the list:

Sub-Machine Guns: Mp-5, Skorpion, Mini-Uzi, AK-74u, P90
Shotguns: W1200, M1014
Assault Rifles: M16A4, AK-47, M4, G3, G36c, M14, MP44
Light Machine Guns: M249 SAW, RPD, M60E
Sniper Rifles: M40A3, M21, Dragunov, R700, Barett .50 cal

Are the Golden Guns anyone's favorite out of the available weapons in these categories?

But the golden guns just look so weird imo. So no.

Gold AK and Drag. look nice, but the rest look a little iffy. The only one I'd use would be the gold AK... I don't really use the Uzi, or SVD. And the M1014 looks better in red.

I love the M60, not just in COD4 but really do love it as a machine gun. Only gold Id be using, no where near getting a gold one, but Comapred to my golden mini uzi and my nearly had golden Ak, its my favorite.

The R700 is my weapon of choice.

..But that's the only gold gun I have.
(Besides the Deagle, dur)

I'm trying to get the AK, and I'll probably use that.

I am only playing to finish all the challenges now, so when I get the golden gun, I wont have anything else to do, so I will just move to the next category. The game will die for me then and I will put it on the shelf.

Sorry to hear.

When I heard this game was coming out, I was so happy, and I counted the hours until I'd have it. Now It's still fun to play. But I need to take breaks and play BF2142 and BF2, because they're more fun, only because they're more teamwork oriented.

But I still <3 this game.

I always try different combos and stuff to keep it interesting, like new and more annoying was to kill. Or I try different attachments.

I use my gold SVD, AK and obviously the Deagle. The rest I don't though, they look a bit shit, especially the Uzi, it looks like a toy from a Christmas Cracker

Same here. All gold guns do is draw the attention of snipers; gold guns are a "shoot me, shoot me!" sign.
As for pistol bitching people, try running around with sleight of hand and a deagle. It fuckin hillarious at the amount of people you can kill (hint: try on hardcore mode as well. You will piss a shit load of people off by deagle sniping them ). BTW the M9 is actually really, really good as a sidearm...on hardcore.

I like the golden M60...

I wish that if you got all the golden guns you could get a platinum gun of some sorts....

A good hint to get gold weapons, I only used this for my AK and got all others fighting normally..

I found a server where it's Free for All 50 player Shipment. Basically, all you do is sit infront of a spawn point shooting at head height, 200 Headshots in like 10 mins. Works really well, but it's too much like cheating, so I stopped it.
