Didnt say the worlds going to be perfect
But compared to the past 3-4 years, things are looking a lot better. It's all about context. The world will never be perfect.
There is a kid starving to death in Africa right now, his mother is watching and he can't do anything about it.
There is a woman being beaten in Southeast Asia right now, but there is no where she can turn.
There is a young adult in the U.S. right now who has completely screwed their life over because of cocaine right now, and they will spend the rest of their life, however long it may be, paying for the consequences.
When it's all put in perspective, it doesn't much matter what asshole is being put in charge of our nukes or what you're going to be chatting about over the water cooler tomorrow at work.
You seem to be implying as though I don't know people are suffering around the world.
I'm saying, compared to the PAST FEW YEARS, the future is looking better than what it is now.
And yes, it does matter. I'm sorry you think that. It matters very, very much who's president of the United States.
I know that you understand the fact that there are people suffering around the world. You can spit out facts about human starvation, poverty, human-rights violations, but I don't think you understand what that really means. Nothing pisses me off more than when someone hears a story about a brutal murder or rape and acts all sad about it. Didn't you realize that it was going on before? Isn't that happening all around the world at that very moment? Why does
that instance touch you so much? Out of sight, out of mind, it's disgusting.
I'm saying in the big picture nothing significant has changed over the past few years.
It matters that there is not a monkey in the White House, and that's about as far as it goes. Despite what people may think about Bush, or the opposing party, it just doesn't make
that much difference who is in office, they all react relatively the same way and have people behind them if they truly fall down on the job. Don't go thinking that just because I feel who is President (out of our current choices anyways)doesn't make much difference that I won't be voting.
