Help ! Battlefield 1942, Road2Rome & SecretWeapons wont start on vitsa WTF ???

My kid got a computer with a GeForce 8500gt and Windows Vista

The title screen shot comes on for a second and just closes out. any suggestions ?

Maybe you should try running those games as admin, also you could try running xp compatibility mode. I have Vista and 8800gtx and run those games with no problem.

I just get the start up "splash screen " angry lookin guy in a british helmut, then its gone ? will try other games good idea.. be rite back

Right click on the shortcut and press "run as administrator"

thanks to every one so far, ok here's the latest...

right click exe. windows xp compatability mode, tried sp2, sp1, 2000 and even win98, open as admin etc.

It wont play Ghost Recon AWF either, that shuts down and says
( Crash in application version: srpcrl .02 Failed setting up render device. )

could it be that it dosn't like the GeForce 8500gt card ? it is a tad dated..?

The card is fine. It's not outdated. The failing to set up a render device could possibly be a graphics driver issue, or something to do with DirectX.

Masterfull you are all MASTERFULL ! My boy thanks you all ! he is a good team player with lightning reflexes and will be a credit to th FPS Online gaming community. He loves his rig too. He is a good dude and a real athlete.
