I have an HVAC air filter covering the intake vent holes of my computer ... sold in Home Improvement stores like Home Depot, Builder's Square, Lowes, etc. Doesn't look pretty, but it works.prototype wrote:
My question is what is the best way to keep the inside of my tower as dust free as possible?
What more can I do?
do they make charcoal filters I can put on the vents or somthing or is that going to far?
thank you for any info that gets posted.
Please explain how the vacuum will short out a computer. Do not use the vacuum to suck the dust directly off, that's dumb just because of the hose bumping around. However, using the vacuum to cause a light suction (10-12 inches away from the "center" of the case) will cause no more charge buildup then the case fans airflow.
thank you for all the info.
do they make universal filters for any case/fan system?

I do not leave my system on for days at a time, only for 6-10 hours sessions each day and when I power down, I cover the tower and the monitor in their own clean plastic bag.
