you have to open your minimap in PS... then resize it from 2048x2048 to 512x512... then name it... ingameMap and save in that folder and overwrite...
then save it again and name it... commanderMap and overwrite the one in your minimap fodler...   then name it...commanderMicromap
and overwrite the one in the minimap folder
these 3 files can be found in the folder below...
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\yourmodsname\levels\yourmapsname\Hud\Minimap

also i noticed in the tutorial that it doesnt mention changing the layer type from 0 to a 1...(picture below)

and to get cool water... just copy and paste a water.con and the water folder from a regular BF2 map into your map... instant water... just raise it or lower the level to your liking...

and a great way to paint your whole map including surrounding terrain in 30 seconds is called BFTpaint... then you can use the editor and the other 3 layers to tweak the terrain texture colors...

you have the nvidia .dds PS plugin?   I forgot to mention that it has to be saved as a .dds file...

I d/l your minimap folder and put it in the Hud/minimap folder of a map im working on and it worked fine...  Are you sure your putting it in your maps... Hud/minimap folder?

yes... thats correct... not sure why you arent seeing the ingame map?   If you want to upload the whole map to filefront ill d/l and look at it...pm me a link...    CB        One question... are you using mec vs US  or possibly one of the EF or AF teams... or even SF?

Sorry to kill your thunder but... http://bfeditor.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=4611 Seriously these guides are a need if anyone wants to make a map. Not that all your info isn't correct. But as a fellow map maker i think editing should be done with help of bf2editor.org.

lol... Im a moderator on that site for over a year and a half and im the level designer for the BF2 Pirates mod...

Okay, I figured it out. Somewhere along the line I had messed up the combat area and made it really really small. So my map works now, but with one small problem:

Youve made a scale 4 map i presume, they are pretty much broken and this is the only fix as of now.

Yeah you can, right click on the exe, and hit properties -> compatability -> run in compatability mode for XP.

The only was this could happen is iff you tried renaming your map file. Rename it back to the original and you should be good.

I never changed a name or such, but it might be that whole my bf and editor are on D instead of C (as C is full)

Is your map folder in
/program files/ea games/battlefield 2/mods/bf2/levels?

If it is and you didnt rename it, I cant see anything wrong with it.
