Religious beliefs should always be honored unless they pose a threat to other people. It seems to me that hygiene and sanitation rules should take precedence.
Though I hate to dig up old news in a thread that has undoubtedly moved on:Mitch wrote:

If somebody posts something in chaotic syntax that criticizes other people for lacking in certain lingual skills, I'm going to respond in kind.
Is that better? Do you prefer that?
I can write in proper English when needed, but Ii was in a raging fit. That usually happens when Ii think about the great country of America being torn apart by the selfishness of another race. [Do you mean 'illegal aliens?' Maybe 'naturalized citizens?' Or just 'foreign people?' 'Race' is non-descriptive, especially when readers aren't sure which one you are, and the nation in question consists of people with ancestry peppering the entire world (and others, if tin-foil hats are to be believed).]
Spanish: I'm admittedly poor on my 'Mexican,' but I do know that certain computerized English-to-Spanish programs tend to use 'su' when, if I remember correctly, it should be 'tu.' If you were talking like a bandito Gollum, it'd be excusable, but a foreign language tutor would immediately pick up on the source.
English: B for effort! *golden star sticker*
If anyone at my company tried to pull that kind of shit for any reason I'd fire her immediately and take my chances in court. Fuck that. I wouldn't go to that facility as a patient either.
I ALWAYS end up back at my first real conclusion: wipe that religion off the face of the planet and destroy all evidence that it ever existed.

If they try to be reasonably and just try to stop them they risk being attacked as being insensitive to religious beliefs.....
.... so I think they should give them formal warnings and notification that if they persist they will be fired and reported to the police for attempted endangerment/manslaughter/murder.

Agreed and Agreed.Dersmikner wrote:

The health and safety of hospital patients is far more fucking important than religion. Don't like it? Go be a doctor in a country that cares more about religion than people.
But one thing I don't understand, what is so bad if they do not lift their sleeves to the elbow?
I don't spread news, my opinions, or beliefs on anyone IRL or over the net to make someone "paranoid". Mek said he honestly hasn't perceived any of the Muslim culture impacting his life/ community. Thats a great perspective. Even if he did notice an impact I hope it would be a positive one. All I am conveying is that there are more than one source about this topic. I am also encouraging him to keep his eyes open, which they seem to be... I only singled Mek out, because of his sincerity, which seems lost in the web of forums, somedays.... +1 MekCameronPoe wrote:
Why did you post about 20 links to ONE particular story - about female muslims asking to leave their sleeves down (*jihadorama*) - in order to enforce a view that Mek should be more 'paranoid' in his dealings with the sizeable number of Muslims around him who have never impacted on his life...?(T)eflon(S)hadow wrote:
@Mek- I truly appreciate your honesty and sincerity. I'm glad to hear that you and the situations in your life have not been impacted.
I'll simply say keep your eyes open, as they are, and be vigilant with keeping your culture intact. Change is always inevitable. The problem with change is that some bitch and whine about it and do nothing to support what they believe in.

PS Don't expect responses right now. Tipsy afters QOTSA gig.
And since you noticed that Mek doesnt have any "dealings" with this personally, he must be a pretty healthy guy. Maybe if that was different he would have personal knowledge in a local medical clinic/ hospital. Cam I hope you would agree, that knowledge is power and the more you look around your world, the more you know.
I'd say we all are doing that, participating in these forums.
