Dream Theater: Score XX (20th Anniversary)

This is one well done live prog album. I have Once in a Livetime, Live at Budokan and Live Scenes form NY among my collection. Score was recorded very well in the Radio City Music Hall in NY.  By far, that is their best recorded live performance.

Ahh I see.  S+M = Symphony and Metallica (sorry for the nooby question here but Symphony Orchestra as in a Symphony Orchestra or is that the name of another rock/metal band/group?)

If it is Metallica and a Symphony Orchestra any chance of psoting any links to watching or hearing footage?

Me being the ol barstard I am, was hoping S+M wasn't the new R+B as I like to think "I still got it", you can't say "Down with the kids" anymore really can you?

Metallica S&M.  Best ever live album.  ever.  and i have a low tolerance for metallica, but that album--2 CD set--is phenomenal.

--edit...naturally, everyone else said that, but I posted then read

My friends and I were just debating live bands -vs- studio recording yesterday.  Mainly, is it the goal of a live band to reproduce the "studio" sound of their songs, or use this as an opportunity to evolve their material into something unique to the live show.  I personally prefer the later, and believe the live album experience show should represent something different, not just the studio songs played sloppy with crowd noises in the background.
For this reason, I would have to suggest:
Matisyahu - Live at Stubb's
Corrosion of Conformity - Live Volume
Pantera - Live: 101 Proof
Bob Marley and the Wailers - Live!

And while I'm not a huge fan of their music, I must admit that Pearl Jam has some excellent live recordings.

The Eagles covering Bob Marley is good aswell as original BM stuff.

I have The Kooks live at tea in the park (as well as an acoustic version of their album) and a couple of various live tunes floating around somewhere if anyone wants them.

Right, I love live music, but am in need of some great live albums.

One of my favs is Foo Fighters' live in Hyde Park gig, absolutely great atmosphere there, I would've payed a lot of money to be there.

So, the purpose of this thread is a request to find some great Live albums, all suggestions are welcome, as long as they're sensible.
I'm not telling you cos you're not talking to me, just because you got rinsed yesterday on xfire

Agreed. Going to see them Feb. 21st at MSG.

When they play Everlong on that album...it sends shivers down my spine.

A shame, because Blink 182 were actually pretty damn good live when I saw them at reading festival.
Especially the giant flaming 'fuck' over the stage.
