Irrelevant. The 6800 Ultra was super-expensive for a long time, and is still somehow eBaying for over $100.
Instead, compare the prices of the X2 and the G92 8800GT.
The X2 beats Ultra and is £80 cheaper. How is that irrelevant?
8800GTX = ~$400 USD and is oldish
8800GT (G92) = ~$300 USD and is less-than-oldish
3870X2 = ~$600 USD and is supposedly the latest and greatest, strutting into the ring to proclaim some kind of victory like you'd sit up in the middle of the night with a perfect comeback to being snubbed earlier that afternoon

I'd like to see ATI step up and drive toe-to-toe against NVIDIA once more (and reap the pricing), but this isn't it. It's more like chin-to-knee.
And I'm not saying it's OMG ATI BEATS NVIDIA LOLOLOLOLOL, since nvidia is leading at the moment. By far. This card will however be top-in-line until the 9-series, and seems to be great value for the price, if you aren't planning to go high all the way later on.

I wonder if 2x 3750 is faster than 3750x2
I'm sure you mean 2x 3870 and 3870 X2 It seems that the X2 is about 5% faster than crossfire 3870. thanks to higher core clocks. It might be a bit more faster tho sicne I haven't seen many of that kind of tests yet.The#1Spot wrote:

Ah, I was going off my memory of an early-January article where $600 was the estimated price of a 3870X2. $450 seems much more reasonable. And believe it or not, there are 8800GTX's that are in the $400-$450 range. Just check newegg.DeathUnlimited wrote:

I know you wren't saying ATI BEATS NVIDIA etc., but I've cruised a lot of tech forums where the ATI die-hards were stepping up to the plate like zombies in a brainstorm.

8800GTX SLi > 3870 X2
And yes you CAN compare it that way, because the 3870 X2 is just the components from two cards put on one board...

Hehe yeah, but the new 8800GTS (G92) are so close to the 8800GTX in performance that (i think) they will become the closest competitor to the 3870 X2GC_PaNzerFIN wrote:
