For those hopelessly incompetent at finding and playing demos this neat thing does it all for you, it also lets you speed up playback,pause, slowdown etc.

Does this let you like save the demos as an .avi or other? I'm having huge trouble trying to get .dm_1 files to .avi

you use fraps to record what you want whilst watching the demos through the player, then fraps will encode them into .avi.

One thing about xfire videos is it makes the vid files freaking huge, 9 minutes is about 2.8 gigs o_O im trying to change it from an .avi and compress hopefully this works.

Fraps aint free, $37 bucks to fork out.

''bind /bind f7 cl_avidemo 30 and /bind f8 cl avidemo 0. of course you can chenge the bind key. what this does is with f7 you start taking screenshots - 30 screenshots per second. and with f8 you stop it. then you go into virtualdub and go open and choose all this screenshots (the program will connect them it self) then you choose under video-compression-uncompressed and you render it by file-save as avi. this makes you an avi file wich you can edit in sony vegas, after effects...''

basically while watching the demo use /cl_avidemo 30 to start recording at times when you make good frags or whatever. cl_avidemo 0 stops the recording. You then need a program called virtualdub to turn the recordings into compressed avi (just tell it to load the screenshots from cod4-main-screenshots).

Well what you do is put all the 30 second clips TOGETHER and edit them together....
It makes longer videos...
