Anybody got an idea how those perform etc etc?

Unless you need Quad me think its better to buy a faster better Duo - in your case seing as money is not an issue buy one of each and compare them yourself

This review says the 9450 beats the Q6600 only on power consumption, heat, and cache size.
Just a quick scan I am sure there is more information somewhere

I wish I had as much money as you
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Cache size then means faster CPU load on certain CPU unfriendly programs. Not games, but like PS and shit.

Quad Core > Dual Core

You just have to pick carefully.

the 9450 is a quad right?!

Well, let´s wait until those CPU´s are aviable... The 9300 series seems pretty good overall price/performance.

Same a s Slayer, looking for a new proc. Is it better to buy a E8400 and a 780i mobo or a Q9300 and a 750i mobo? Don't want  to spend too much.

E8400 and OC to >4GHz ------> Win.

It's a dual core though.

Depends on the use. For gaming Quad cores aren't THAT much worth it at the moment, but for more a future-proof machine quad is more of a must.

I need it for games nothing else. So C2D FTW right? I agree, its cheap and if i need something more powerful the next year, i just upgrade, its cheap anyway, money well spend.

I got an Asus, wait, eh, P5N32-SLI Nforce 650-SLI... I hope this MoBo supports the new CPUs... Otherwise I´ll go for the newer P5ND Nforce750... At least I think so
