Should Papparazzi's be allowed to stalk the living hell out of celebrities?

A part of me says yes and no.

Yes because celebrities knew that this would happend and still chose the lifestyle.

No because it is really an invasion of privacy. (keeping it short)

Sorry if this has already been posted, couldnt find anything about it/

Keefer Sutherland just got out of jail. Almost 2 months. Not a word from the blood sucking press, yet they follow Brittney around with the vomitcam.

I'd say they have gone too far and what they glamorize is not good for our society.

But how much someone knows about celebrity is one of the most telling signs of the quality of their personality.

I would have to say no.  If I were a celebrity, I would want to live as normal of a life as possible.  I wouldn't want to see dozens of cameramen and videographers around me if I were to go out to dinner with my family, for example.  It would just piss me off.

The sad thing is that magazines pay a lot of $ to get the pictures :\
Unfortunate for the celebrity.

If you or I followed a woman, took pictures of her every move, followed her in your car and took pictures of her on the beach or in her house......you would be thrown in jail as a stalker. These guys are no different. They should be allowed to take pictures at events like movie openings, awards shows or events specifically made for the public and paparazzi to view. These guys cross the line way to much and put people in danger. They break the law in many ways in traffic and in the way they try to get photos. There should be a limit.

Papparazzi are the scum of the earth.  Even famous people should have privacy.  Fuck these nosy bastards.

Agree.

Some of these dirtbags even try to bait their victims (yes, I'll use that word) into striking them, etc. threatening to sue, etc.  Talk about pride. Something you want to tell your kids....

"Hey Johnny...when you get older, don't worry about school or an honest days work for a fair wage....all you do is get a camera, go find someone famous, hassle them until they've had enough and lash out...then you SUE!!!  It's the American way Johnny!"

LOL@Vomitcam.

Brittney is courting the press for her own needs. I predict she will suddenly find god, clean up, write a book about her 'troubled' life, go on Opera and release a comeback album.........'poor Britney, look how she turned her life around maybe I can too if I buy her album & merchandise.......or she will end up back in a trailor park with a crystal meth addiction, ripping out her teeth with pliers. (That magazine I would buy)

I totally agree ATG, I fucking hate celebrates. They are the new royalty. Instead of kids idolising and striving to be like someone great, an inventor, entrepreneur, states man, they idolise people like Paris Hilton who is famous for what? It sends out the wrong message to kids and leaves them with their heads in the same clouds these celebrity leaches live, instead of getting down the the reality of a 9-5 job for 50 years of their life. Then when that reality hits they seek comfort in celebrity magazines, papers, TV programmes etc and dream instead of action!

Gone are the days were ordinary people went on quiz shows and you could sit at home and think "there's someone like me, cool" to these fucking celebrity quiz shows, Get me off an Island crap, its all their is. The cult of celebrity is becoming part of western culture. The problem with idolizing these people is that they are generally week. They need gratification constantly and can't even wipe their own arses without an entourage of hanger on-s. I fear the direction popular culture is going, we stay on the consumer treadmill, wanting to be a celebrity, keeping capitalism afloat while not actually being any happier for it. /rant

Supply and demand.
The public demands the pictures so the Paparazzi supply them. So stop demanding the pictures and no one will supply them.

In short its the general publics fault.

Would be interesting to see how the papparazzi behaved if they were the ones being followed everywhere, having every action, regardless of how mundane, photographed and shared with the world then criticized to the nth degree.

I'm willing to bet they wouldn't care for it one bit.

My wife and I go to Foxwoods Casino a few times a month and there is always some shit head celeb there. There are anti paparrazi laws in CT so they kind of just blend in with everyone else. I don't know how those paparrazi's get away with that crap out there, the police would arrest their asses out here.

Me either. I am aiming to retire in 8 years when im 40. Im on track, but things can change.

But 90% of ppl will work to their 60s or 70s and you have to be prepared for that reality.
