Books? Magazines?

Genres?

Specific series?

I just picked up the first Harry Potter to see what all the fuss is about. I've seen all the movies up to this point, but everyone raves I have to read the books because there is so much more character development there. So far it's at least interesting.

Waiting on my Tom Clancy books to come in the mail from my mom from America. She has all of his books up to this point and I really want to read the Jack Ryan series. I've read Rainbow Six, Red Storm Rising, and I have seen The Hunt for Red October. My mom and dad love his books and a friend says they're great, too.

But does anyone here read Star Wars??? I'm waiting for the next Legacy of the Force book to come out. The last two books didn't even last me a week in reading. Really friggin awesome books.

yes i'll admit his books are predictable, but the imagery is amazing, plus there are a lot of ideas that can be dug out of them

Lords of Chaos. About the black metal scene in Norway during the 90s, where churches were torched (hooray!! ), and the murders and everything. Really really interesting. I read it at work during long renders. Helps pass the time.

if not, I read newspapers mostly. I guess I don't read much since in school we were "forced" to read what the teachers said we had to read, so it was never a fun experience for me, and it shows now.

Mostly Fantasy/SciFi like Animorphs, Everworld and similar.

I haven't read many adult Fantasy books, as I either can't find them, or they don't hold my interest for long enough.

You're going to LOVE the last book. But you MUST get The Dark Nest trilogy right after before you jump into Legacy of the Force. If you don't know what happens in Dark Nest, you won't know what happens in LOTF. I don't want to spoil LOTF for you, but it's AWESOME.

I read quite a bit. In the past I read a lot of King; I love all of Tolkien's works; CS Lewis; read a couple of novels by Ellis (including American Psycho); read Trainspotting and it's sequel, Porno by Welsh. I plan on going through some classics soon, right after I finish A Clockwork Orange by Burgess. I enjoyed most of the required reading in high school too.

I read mostly any type of novel really, just that it has to be good and appeal to me.

Newspapers - Financial Times and Sunday Times
Magazines - If I see one I'm interested it, I'll take a flick through it and possibly get it
Books - Company successes and failures (eg. Starbucks - pour your heart into it) and a few political books are always nice

I read a mix of fiction and non-fiction...mostly fiction. I get enough non-fiction at work. Or is it the other way around?

Right now, I'm reading The Bancroft Strategy by Robert Ludlum.
