As promised, I have been working on a tanking tutorial.
I spent most of the last couple of weeks learning Sony Vegas 8.0,
and I put my intro together over the weekend.
I have most of my footage for the body of the tutorial,
and will just need to compile it with narration. (2-3 weeks?)

I'm very new to vegas, and i'm still experiencing some problems I need help with.
My main problem right now is that for some reason windows explorer
keeps crashing on me when I try to open up folders containing rendered files from vegas.
This problem does not transport with the file to other computers, but it does
transport to other folders on my computer if I move the file.
I think something has corrupted my explorer app.
(But it only happens in folders that contain Vegas files.)

My other problem is configuring the divx codec for optimal size and quality.
I followed instructions from a tutorial I listed in the movie thread list,
but I don't know if this really is the best solution.
I'm not totally satisfied with the quality yet I got on Stage 6... I know it can be better.

Anyway, any feedback for tweaking my intro for the final release would be appreciated.
I'm not promoting this anywhere else until it is done.

Fucking Nice, but I didn't like the 3D text or gun you used, It makes the editing look too old school(?).. Maybe try something different, because beside the text and stuff the editing was good.

Wha???? you don't like my "Safer" gun????? Oh me heart... it breaks!... lol.
Ok... i'm not that attached to it.
I'm willing to change my logo If I can come up with something else I like better.
What is it about the gun?... not realistic enough? the fact that it's 3d?
How else i supposed to depict a condom over the barrel of a gun?
Any ideas? maybe a link to an intro you like that can inspire me?

yeah.. i'm about as "old school" as they come.
any older, and i wouldn't know how to work a computer.

I would say 'amazing' but everyone else has. Instead I'm gonna say 'prestige', because I like the word and it has a significance for me. You are one hell of a tanker. I would never go near airmaps in a tank for fear of getting raped by......ohhh......all the things you shot down City maps and Tampa for me, but you got the skills.

I think we should vote that you are put as number one tanker ( above ACU Angel - which I know won't please him ). That is your true postion. Maybe Gismo_Camaxide might give you a run for your money.

Wow!... thats really nice... I'm honored.
On getting raped... make no mistake... I do get raped.
But bringing down a bomber or attack chopper once after he has killed me several times makes it all worth it.
I do get killed by more aircraft than I take down, and sometimes I'm simply forced to give up my disadvantage
by taking to the skies. I'm also a fairly decent jet pilot, and I'm frequently able to run off those pro bombers
(who cant dogfight) and the TV missile whores (who hide in the stratosphere).
A pro-tanker is simply no match for a pro-pilot... but shelling down a pro-pilot makes those victories even sweeter.

If and when I get around to part 2, it will be on survival.

Position.... I wouldn't refer to myself as the number one tanker... there's more to tanking than AA. But Thanks!
(maybe just one of the best shots in a tank)

I dont think any amount of tutorials or 100's of hours practice would help the average player even be 1/10th as good as that.

that tampa shot was rediculous, even if it was pure luck it has to be the best shot in bf2 of all time

lol... thanks!... but the intent of the tutorial is to accomplish just that... hopefully more so.
It falls in-line with the promise I made in "Animal".
Once I reveal the concept of my shooting technique and how to train for it,
I would argue (and hope) that dedicated students will be able to pull off even better shots than my Tampa kill.
I'm 44 years old... I no longer have the reflexes and dexterity of a teenager.

btw... that Tampa shot was about 450+ meters from tank to point of impact. (definitely a LOT of luck in that one)
I did have one other a few months back that had to be closer to 800-900 based on the time
it took for my shell to reach it's target. Unfortunately, the kill resulted in an immediate ban,
and I was unable to get the ban lifted before I could aquire a copy of the demo file which had since rotated out.
I guess I'm still a little steamed about that one. The Tampa kill is certainly the best one I have recorded.

edit: Oh... The Tampa Jet Kill is also on stage 6.
