I think you guys are pissed about this title thread becausee it is SPOT ON and true, and you guys are scrambling to debunk it. Pulling out every trick in the book
1. You're generalizing <-------one of my favorites
2. You hate all Muslims <-------this ine is funny considering number 1.
3. You are insulting
4. You're source sucks
etc, etc,..........
One thing that is missing is the fact that this OP is NOT true by the definition of the word APPEASEMENT.
1-True.
2-Kinda true.
3-True.
4-Kinda true.
I really cant get over the fact that you keep using the word "appeasement" without knowing what it really means in the context in which you use it.lowing wrote:

Funny, I was thinking the same thing about you.....adam1503 wrote:

I quoted you the defintions of the word and then I tied them to the OP if you refuse to acknolwledge that then it is your problem not mine.
The UK did not appease anyone, they just change a couple of fcking words. That is PC not appeasement, again man.lowing wrote:

You quoted the first thing that came out of a search engine without thinking about what it means. If you think about it, this isnt appeasement. Youre wrong, and youre too stubborn to admit it.lowing wrote:

The yanks are just pissed off that we decided to discontinue a phrase that they coined. We're showing a lack of 'appeasement' to the US if anything. Sorry guys but Gordon Brown isn't the lapdog that Blair used to be, get over it.sergeriver wrote:

Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.
"The policy of granting concessions to potential enemies to maintain peace. " I think I can tie this inadam1503 wrote:

1: to bring to a state of peace or quiet : calm
2: to cause to subside : allay <appeased my hunger>
3: pacify conciliate; especially : to buy off (an aggressor) by concessions usually at the sacrifice of principles
I am confident I can tie all this to the OP as well..........how much longer do you plan on remaining in denial??
Personally I do not give it shit if you call a bannana split. It is the reasons you are doing it that now shows GB as appeasing the Muslim communityKILLSWITCH wrote:

"Granting concessions to potential enemies"
We are not at war with Islam, just the extremists who claim to fight in the name if Islam. If anything, this will frustrate them (the terrorists), even moe, rather than appease them.
Now quit your Muslim-bashing bs.

I don't get how one woman calling it "Anti-Islamic Terror" means that the whole of the UK is appeasing terrorists.
Political appeasement is when Chamberlain "gave" Cezhslovakia to Hitler.
In many respects I can fully understand calling it that, it's an attempt to make many Muslims feel that what extremeist Islam is against their own religion as it breaks many of their beliefs and morals.
Though as for appeasement, do you really think that Al-Q actually LIKE being called "Anti-Islamic"? Why on earth would they like a title that denounces the very cause they fight for?
Appeasement my ass.

Ummm "potential enemies". Moderate Muslims have already shown what they are capable ofcartoonswhen they get stirred up or get their feelings hurt.adam1503 wrote:

Then what the hell do you call it when a country is going to re-phrase a war with radical Islam. To make it sound like they are not at war with radical Islam for no other reason than to keep potential radical muslims happy? It is appeasement no matter you want to try an slice it.sergeriver wrote:

That is complete bollocks. How does making it sound like we are not at war with radical Islam appease radical Islam? Youre argument is falling apart...lowing wrote:

Acording to "lowing" it is.
How the hell is renaming a little phrase going to appease terrorists!
"Praise Allah! The infidels have called us "Anti-Islamic" I'll just lay down my gun and buy a McBurger"

they didn't do this to piss off Bin Laden, they did this to keep from pissing off other Muslims, and we all know what can happen when you piss off a member of this peaceful religion don't we? So they appeased themShowMeTheMonkey wrote:

Islam goes against all things westerners take for granted in our society. If a Muslim adopts western culture, then they are not practicing Islam Sorry buddy.adam1503 wrote:

Islam is not inherently hostile towards western culture. The two can coexist peacefully.lowing wrote:

I agree GB is using PC to appease the Muslim community from getting mad. I wonder why they would be afraid of that? Hmmmmmmmmmmmsergeriver wrote:

As I said it may be an attempt to alienate the extremeist community!
You're completely ignoring that fact, and even if you do call this "appeasement" what is so very deeply wrong with it?
By saying mainstream Islam is at war with the West then you show how really ignorant of Islam you really are.

Maybe because they think it's more intelligent to turn the moderate Muslims against the extremists than to generalize about all Muslims as terrorists.lowing wrote:

They are not out to appease terrorists. They are appeasing the Muslim community to hopefully make sure they do not turn radical on them.ShowMeTheMonkey wrote:

First you argued that this is intended to keep radical Muslims happy, then you suggest that it is to keep mainstream Muslims happy. Im giving you the chance to clarify your argument: which is it? Or are you just struggling to string together a coherent argument?lowing wrote:
