Need help, virus thats causing popups but antivirus wont work

Alright I have a virus that is causing a memory leak and opening pop ups that have CiD in them. I have tried Adaware, Spybot:S&D and Norton 360. The virus gets detected by Norton. But it keeps coming back. I can barely do anything as if i go into Task Manager and close down Ie (I use Firefox so IE is used by the CiD) it will pop up and start using all of my memory.

I seriously need help

CCleaner doesn't do spyware.

I'm trying CounterSpy right now, its doing a pretty good job so far.

reformat... you could also start up in safe mode and run the virus scan... do you have "hijack this" thats a pretty cool free app
and you could also go into control panel... administrative tools... services and see if the virus is running in there?

Start Menu > right-click My Computer > Manage

Use Norton to figure out exactly where the virus is and try deleting it manually while in safe mode or rename it.

ummm sounds like a Vundo...

i had the same problem and used VundoFix to get rid of it http://www.atribune.org/content/view/24/2/

i dunno for all i know it might have given me a different virus. but it got rid of the Vundo very easily/well.
