Not sure if this would be the right section but here it is, I've been working on my own wee PLA urban map for a while, despite needing some more decorative work and hopefully finding a way to stop it crashing when it loads (titch is on the case). Just to show you some screenies of how it looks, some screens have been updated .

This map currently has and will likely just have light vehicles, there's absolute minimal room for tanks or APCs to move around, and nowhere for a helipad. FAV's and large jeeps are present, but mostly it is confined space infantry fighting.

[tuf] catbox lurks around here and he really knows what he's doing when it comes to mapping. zip it up and upload it to filefront and ask him to take a look at it for you and you'll have your crash problem solved in like ten minutes. he fixed my map when it was dicked up.

looks pretty cool, but what is the thing with all the rocks and shit? waterfall?


edit: also, make sure your grass isnt too thick or its going to be lag hell for everybody without an 8800.

cave with waterfall, likely to become a flag, not completed though. I have a thing for creating something unique, one of my other maps i created this mine,

Nice looking map mate.  Kinda like Songhua and great wall with a nice twist.  Looks nice...too bad I dont play anymore hehe I'd like to give it a try.

however there are a number of secret routes, and small hiding places that you might not find unless you keep a sharp eye

There's not much left to do level decoration wise, some more trees and maybe a few extra additions to the village plus some mounted lmgs, then just the lighting, not sure about the map yet though will have to see what happens before I can create that .

lol unfortuately no, I kinda wish there was a way in which you could smack someone with the butt of your gun for close quaters melee.

Well laddies this particular map is actual (I believe) nearing completion, for those of you wanting to give it a try you can dl here.

simply extract to your bf2/levels folder and make sure the folder name is exactly Village_Assault, then try in MP local, map sizes play no part at the minute, so you can jsut try on 16 size . Hope it works for you.

BTW ill just mention it appears to crash on low settings, med or high required, no idea why it does that for so sorry in advance if you can only play low settings .

Yeah, lots of great ideas in it...Im just concerned with how a lot of the alleyways are just too narrow, and too squared out. Theres gona be a lot of nades and gaymores about unfortunatly.
