tbh this thread shows that bf2 players are as bad as wow players. You just love farming. WoW players farm items/exp, bf2 players farm stats/ranks.

I love how people seem to think stats are what make a game good. The gameplay in CoD4 is better than in bf2. The only reason some people are getting bored with it is because theres no leader board for them to prove they have no lives on
Karkand2, errrrr, BF2 aint perfect, I dont know a single player that thinks it is. But IMHO it is still as good as anything else, i just wish there were more maps or something to stop the 24/7 Karkand whoring. I like Karkad (or used to) but i dont know how some of the old BF2 players cn keep going back to the same 24/7 servers. Die Karkand.

COD4 is still the best game for PC multi-play. We all may be getting used to the maps but as soon as the MOD tools are released that will change very fast.
Besides, if BF2 isn't old after this many years then how the hell can COD4 be "old" after only 3 months. Maybe we have the attention span of gnats now idk.

As much as I despise BF2 now, it was one hell of a game at one point.

I still like it. Better than BF2 at times.
I'm in equilibrium between CoD4, PR .7, and Company of Heroes... I'm happy with it still.

the main problem with COD4 is that its repetitive and too CQC. its overly predictable and you pretty much always know where your enemies are going to be. this takes away the thrill of the hunt which is half the fun.
bigger maps are also a must. as it is snipers are effectively useless and are no fun, the longer range guns are useless half the time and get stomped by the p90 and mp5, and everything is frustrating.
the thing that made bf2 so great was that enemies could be literally everywhere and EVERYTHING had a use on every map.
i think call of duty still has life, but only on servers with less than 20 people on it. turning every corner and hitting an opponent is less fun than hunting carefully for him.

12-18 people is perfect for a CoD4 match.

Ya, as many of the people before me have stated, the game does seem to get old pretty quickly. The map layouts seem to be all the same. They are not big enough to be truly effective at sniping, and there are lots of choke points on every map that seem to just clog up and it becomes a nade fest (ex. Wet works). I dont know if its dieing, its too early to tell, but I know I dont play it as much

No its not. Look at the amount of new servers every day. It'll last a long time, even longer If we get new maps etc. in the following patches.
I am currently 100% everything except the LMG expert-challenges, and i think my gametime per week will drop when i've reached 100%, not because i think stats-r-leif, but more because I like working towards something and that I am a perfectionist...

depends what your looking for in cod4 if your looking to complete challanges and get highest rank then it wont last long but if your looking for unranked clan play whether it be ladder's or pcw's it will go on for a long time, who ever said snipers ar useless they might be in pub but in scrims there probably the most important part of the team
Even though the game is frustrating with too much emphasis on exploding things and not enough on shooting bullets, it was fun for a while. But the damn maps are sooooo much terribly small that every round is almost the same. Your decisions are "should I take left path or right path" and "should I throw my grenades right at the beginning or wait 20 seconds". Combine that with a plethora of ways you can get killed in first few seconds of the round (and no ammount of godly leetnes and e-penis lenght can help you there) and you get a game with a short life span.
Personally, since Project Reality 0.7 came out I havent played COD4 once. I was thinking of selling it but Ill wait to see if some good mods pop out.
