Prestige mode is only on consoles, basically when you reach level 55 you can enter prestige mode which wipes your stats but gives you a different rank sign, you can do this quite a few time i think.

I thought it was satisfying at first. But then I played the other day and it was absolute shit. Nearly everyone was 55, but most of them sucked and should have probably been a 20 or 30. Since basically everyone is 55 now, you can't tell who's decent at the game and who's not, and it's really hard to tell if the teams are balanced or whatever.
BF2 was nice because at least you could tell who's put time in the game and who could make a contribution rather than run around with their thumb up their ass.

That's bullshit.
There are so many high rank players in BF2 who are completely unaware that they're playing with other people.
On top of that, they're usually scraping average skill-wise.
Edit: But to stay on topic...I think I hit top rank on my fifth day of playing. Not sure how many hours that was.
I've been playing BF2 on and off for the past year and a half, and I'm still only at First Sergeant.

Yes there are high rank players in BF2 that don't realize they have a team, but in my experiences, the numbers are a bit less. And besides, even if they don't realize it's a team game, they still contribute and still make a difference.
Besides, my main point was that since ranking in BF2 is slow, you can tell who's been playing it a while, and who has a basic understanding of the game. In CoD4, ranking is so fast that even level 55's are complete nubs at the game and suck bad.

Nyte: Prestige mode happens when you reach rank 55. You then have the choice to have your XP, challenges and weapons wiped. All you keep is the ability to use a clan tag. You can do this a total of 10 times, with the highest rank being a Gold Cross thingy.
You reach level 55 at 35,000 points. I didn't do Prestige Mode, because I don't want to lose my challenges, and because I like my 5 stars. It prevents you from earning any more XP, but not score. My score is at about 85,000 in 2 days.

thats why 360>pc once you hit 55 you start over again but different rank symbol, you can do this 10 times. Meaning it takes a while to rank up all the way.
