Presently I have a Logitech Attack 3 that I had for the last year and half, which was doing the job alright for me until it fucked up and now its really hard to fly. It always turns to the right while in a jet and/or turns right at a reallllly slow rate compared to the left side (which sucks when im trying to follow a jet..)

- I tried recalibrating it, with little to no success. It would either work for 5 minutes or not do a damn thing.
- Tried the new drivers for it, worked for 5 minutes, and no way to recalibrate it with those drivers (what the hell where they thinking?)

I have no idea what to try anymore, I'm thinking about buying a new joystick, possibly another Attack 3 since they are about $30 now but I have a feeling that the same thing will happen again or buy another one below the $100 mark with tax/shipping included.

Firstly I want to try to fix this one, if that doesn't work I'll buy a new one but have no idea which. Any ideas are welcomed. Thanks

I'd go with the Saitek Cyborg Evo.

I'd recommend staying away from Logitech joysticks; while I love my MX518, the joysticks leave much to be desired.  I had a couple of Logitech joysticks, as did my co-worker, and many members of another site where I moderate.  One thing that seems to repeat itself with Logitech joysticks is that they lose calibration and the issue cannot be permanently resolved.  All of the calibration issues to date seemed to revolve around the Logitech Extreme 3D, but it sounds as though you have the same issue.

Yeah, its the famed Logitech fail. Not thats it's a bad joystick, it just does this after years of use. I had a Logitech 3D Pro, did the same thing. If you search Logitech problem, you will see many other threads. So there isn't really anything you can do to "fix it". Just buy a new one. Sorry to be the one to tell ya.

My replacement... a birthday gift to meh-self

My Logitech Attack 3 did the exact same thing on me.  If you wanna stay on the cheaper end, I replaced my Logitech attack 3 with a Saitek ST290 Pro, and love it, was only around $30 when I got it, probably less now.

I saw the Saitek X-52 and want it, but sadly it's about $180 which is way out of my price range

On the other hand the Saitek Cyborg Evo looks like a really good choice and has a great price tag too!

Go for the Saitek Aviator.

Honestly, I don't see the point in the X52. Sure, it increases your e-penis when you tell people you have it, but when it comes to basics, I don't see how it's any better.

Yes it's a pretty joystick however my c0ck is much better than my claimed e-penis
anyways... I found the x-52 in a Popular Science magazine over a year before I started playing BF2.. I thought it was really nice design, because the joystick and throttle have no internal contacts to wear out like other joysticks. So the reliability of a great design outweighed the expense, for me. The point is it's a great design and the input/ interaction with the game is well, simply amazing. I would recommend any Saitek product based on my experience...
