You realise that if you pick up your phone and make the huge effort of ringing your ISP - You can get them to turn the filter off right?

And what about the 96% of boys using the internet that experienced wanted exposure to sexual material? Think of them too!A report by the Australia Institute in 2003 showed 84 per cent of boys and 60 per cent of girls using the internet had experienced unwanted exposure to sexual material.

I sense so much fail in this.
1: Almost every site there is has some time had/has porn on it. They'd basically have to block everything but MySpace and LiveJournal
2: /b/ would certainly get blocked. Massive anonymous ausfag attack on all Australian ISPs.

ISP: Ok, we need you to fill out the forms A10 G22-217, pages 1-15 and return it personally to the nearest ISP office. When you've done that and we've sent the sheets to verification in Sydney, wich will take 3-5 weeks, we will be able to shut the filter down within six months.
pool: Fuck you Il askmy american friends to download donkey porn for me!
ISP: Do note that the filter look throuh all fooage and photos and checks for pictures that reemble peises and breasts.
pool: D-donkey penis too?
ISP: Yes, donkey penis, too.

Well the internet bill is under my name, and it's not entirely because of 4chan. If I pay money to own a service, I want to use all of it. I wouldn't want to be happily browsing and then the shit filter detects something and says "no lol".VicktorVauhn wrote:

Gives me the idea to charge em for my porn bwhahahahaELITE-UK wrote:
They will be on msn asking people to send them some porn lolz.
Supposedly, according to the new "porn is bad" approach, people say that it creates an image for a child that a woman is just an object and something to be "pumped".Rod Foxx wrote:
As i recall, the UK tried to implement something very similar to this and it failed hard. This was a couple of years ago and there have been no repercussions from that.
And stop trying to prevent children from watching porn. I was about ten when i discovered porn and at twelve when, the internet became affordable, i hit that shit like you wouldn't believe. It hasn't harmed me any. I fail to see how porn can even do any damage to a kid unless he is so right wing he flies in circles.
Some people just fail at life and have no idea wtf they are talking about (see anyone trying to ban games/movies/music). It doesn't work and there is no evidence to back up claims that any of this has adverse effects on children. They are simply looking for a scapegoat, and because a lot of parents have no idea about any of this, they jump on the failwagon.
That's my opinion anyway.
