It is the 1977 version of the Hymn of the Soviet Union, not the anthem of the Russian Federation. I also noticed the Spetsnaz symbol is communist related. Did I miss something story related that would explain this?

That could indeed have something to do with the Ultra Nationalists that follow Zakhaev. The loyalist would be the federationalists then.

I never got why it was the Spetznaz in multiplayer. The story goes that it was Russian Seperatists, not the Government, you were fighting. Infact there were loads of times when you had Russian Gov forces helping you out.
