Does it stop at 50% ?
Does the walker cursor start breakdancing rather than walking ?

Anyway.. my general responce would be to reeinstall the game and remember to delete all chache files (the BF2142 folder in My Docs)

if you have not fixed the prob, reinstall the path, worked a treat for me
