well in about a week, My norton anti-virus will call it a day, coz the subscription will run out. I want to get a different antivirus one that doesn't slow the computer down 60%, what would you reccomend?
AVG + Search.
Yah, I just bought literally a moment ago (yes bought, I am a total looser apparantly) a 2 year sub for 3 users. Should be better than that SHITE norton/mcafee I have put up with for close to 3 years.trippy982 wrote:

Nod32
F-Secure.
Avast or AVG.
Avast, I use it, I haven't got trouble with it, and best of all, it's free. It doesn't take much from your PC either.

I use Panda. I get it for free with a swedish PC magazine (PC för alla). It works really great, and has got firewall and everything. The only bad thing is that it tends to update at the worst of time, and the installation of updates uses 100% of CPU power, and is automatically ran at highest priority. Otherways it doesn't use any CPU at all, and about 60-80MB RAM.
On all other aspects, it's truly wonderful. Easy to configure and all. Works great with this PB shit, too.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
