that certain quotes found in COD4 such as "Stay Frosty", "Check those corners!", and "I like to keep this for close encounters" are all quotes that the colonial Marines say in the movie "Aliens". Don't believe me, watch the movie.

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.
Thats pretty cool
Yup. Price says it once, I think during the first mission. Vasquez says it during the TV Station mission when they're walking around on the roof of the TV station.DefCon-17 wrote:

Captain Mitchell in Ghost Recon 3: Summit Strike says "Stay Frosty Ghosts."DefCon-17 wrote:

Does that count?
Vasquez is also a character in Aliens. I definitely noticed that. There's even one quote the OP missed:Hurricane wrote:

In the first mission when something explodes and you fall to the ground, Price pulls you up saying:
"On your feet soldier, we are leaving!"
In Aliens, Hudson yells to Drake: "Come on Drake, we are leaving!" in the exact same tone of voice, with the emphasis on leaving!.

There were a few movie referances, Aliens was one movie referred to, Black Hawk Down is an obvious one and the title to the second-to-last mission "No Fighting in the War Room" is a direct quote from "Docter Strangelove, or 'How I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb'".

The Black Hawk Down reference is the chopper mission (Shock and Awe), correct?
fuckin irene
YES!!! I was JUST about to say something about this. Aliens is my favorite movie and that was the first thing I noticed.Rohirm wrote:

Yeah, the part with the girl in the crashed cobra shooting the MP5 was so much like Mike Durant in BHD. First thing i thought off. The rocket in the game even hit the tail rotor and the chopper spun between the buildings like in the movie.Ty wrote:

I've only seen Alien, still gotta watch Aliens. Have it on DVD.
"people in ny have a general idea of how to drive. one of the pedals goes forward the other one prevents you from dying"
The quotes from when you die in single player are almost all the same as what you would get when you were killed in Operation Flashpoint.
I just saw the History Channel program on that, which is why I guessed it..:ronin:.|Patton wrote:

The fact that they suffer more causalities as a result of rescuing the pilot is similar to that of Black Hawk Down too.
Before Mile High Club, there's a reference to Airplane. Love that movie

"Surely you cant be serious?"
"I am serious. And dont call me Shirley."
Going in deep and hard is a reference to the E3 2007 speech made by IW.
BHD: one of the Black Hawks (I think it's the one with Nikolai and the SAS) is callsign something-six-four. And it gets shot down.
Did anyone notice when Griggs left in "Shock and Awe"? I always thought he died in the nuclear explosion until those joint missions.
And when did Gaz die? I don't remember seeing him die, only Griggs and Price.
