What is up with my ping?

Ever since I installed the 1.4 patch my average ping on servers has increased I cant find any server that is under 100 ping anymore. I uninstalled and then reinstalled with the 1.0 patch and it was normal then I reinstalled the 1.4 patch and I still have the same problem.

On an off note: Why do people whine so much about pings over 100? I rarely get them below.

Well I had something similar happening to me. Whenever I refreshed the browser all the servers were coming up but the lowest ping I could get according to that was 350 or something. I scrolled down to search for Internode (Aus servers) and it said I would get a ping of 1500 which was crazy. I joined and the ping I was actually getting in-game was 60 or so :s

The sad thing is, ping doesn't have an effect on performance when it is below 200.

People should stop whining about their ping and play the game.

You're right, your hit registration gets fucked up totally random regardless of ping.

I've hit moving targets better with a 200 ping than 90 ping before.

the server list seems to be fucked... after installing newest patch it said I had over 2000 in ping on my fav server while xfire said I had the normall 100-150... joined via xfire and my ping in-game was normall...

Hey Masterstyle,
I had the exact same problem with the patch.
My ping's beforehand were 50-70ish and now they're all over the place with the lowest being 200ish.
In-game, though, the old ping of 50-70ish still shows.
Maybe these new figures are taking into account their anti-lag system?
