Well its been like a 5 month hiatus for me in these forums, and after browsing a few recent threads, it appears that not much has changed. Reading through the most recent flame wars something struck me. Its just not the same without me. Sure you may get a few cheap laughs here and there, but nothing near the level of ridicule achieved in some of my threads. I also noticed a wall of shame thread has been started and was pleased to see my stats outage thread has made it up there. Reading that thread every once in a while in its entirety lifts my mood without fail. The mod who closed the thread really put it into the best words: a new low for these forums. Anyhoo, I bet some people may have wondered what I've been up to lately so here's an update:
-I quit playing bf2 around may of this year since aquiring a widescreen monitor that I couldn't get to run the damn thing. Also, I admit, I was getting sick of the same old karkand/medic routine. Despite everything I don't regret a single hour playing bf2 since no game has appealed to me on the same level as of yet. Bf2 is truly a classic in pc multiplayer gaming history.
-I upgraded my pc, and started looking at some of the next gen games that started coming out this november. Picked up TF2 played that alot, still do every now and then, good fun, no bugs, solid game. I participated in the crysis multiplayer beta, was blown away by graphics but the gameplay was seriously lacking for multiplayer, balance screwed up, lots of things needed fixing etc. Played UT3 demo as soon as it came out and resolved to buy it. Been playing UT3 since release date and have been having alot of fun. The game still needs alot of polishing much like bf2 did when it was released. There's alot of UI issues mostly but the gameplay is solid and characteristically UT. The game runs smooth on almost any system and the graphics are top notch.
-Finally I'm wondering what you bf2s regulars have been up to in the past 5 months. Are you still hopelessly addicted to bf2 or have you broke the habit like I have and moved on with the rest of the gaming industry? If not why, if yes then what games are you playing etc...
