Such an intolerant statement.
I have yet to see a religion truly practice tolerance.
Tolerance varies from person to person and has nothing to do with what their faith is.

It has plenty to do with what their faith is.

Really? I'd say the majority does. It's not exactly newsworthy stuff though.

Even if religion wouldn't stop all the violence, there would be one major difference.  At least we would have reasons, logical or illogical, that can be seen, proven, and addressed.  With religion there is no proof, and certainly while every religion tries to proclaim they have it right, none can prove it.

At least if we are fighting over a woman, land, politics, human rights, etc., these can all be quantified and addressed.  Not so with religion.
So we'd still be slaying one another, just for different reasons.  This is better how?

No way jose!! Humans in masses can not be trusted to interact with out some omnipitent pressence showing them the way things are supposed to be. One question to the OP? When you mean religion do you mean a religion's doctrine or the institute itself?

Yes.

I'm sure someone has already said all my reasons.

Obviously the world would be much worse. Maybe the majority here wish there was no Christian/Muslim/Jewish god, but surely getting rid of religion is a terrible step backwards. It encompasses not only what that organized religion may have somewhat laid out already, but it gives wiggle room in which you form your own beliefs about life and what's the best way to live it.
As I've claimed before, everyone is religious because they are all individual religions with everyone having seperate and unique beliefs. It just so happens that some people happen to pick parts to join together with. That is how you get extremists, because extreme is a relative term in comparison to the non-extreme people. No two people believe exactly the same things to exactly the same extent. Everyone has founded their own unorganized religion to follow.

Turn the other cheek, my child. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Love thy fellow man as thyself. Kind of incompatible with some of your views on a range of issues that involve the slaying of certain people.

hopefully you know that Christanity wants you to ignore mild things but when it turns into pure evil then kill it.
