I wonder if the result of the poll would be different if you used the word "tweak"?
Most people who complain about config dont know what the hell they're talking about so...

Is this a joke thread taking the piss out of tweak complaints??
If not then wtf you talkin bout cracker?? As rub said, "the folder is called user settings".

See that's the thing, if you're changing you are definitly tweaking.Fredrik wrote:

I was just wondering if it's considered cheating.
I'm leaning towards saying it gives you an unfair advantage.
what the hell kind of question is that
Lots of things give you an unfair advantage in bf2, like hardware and internet connection. When i take my computer to a friend of mine i have fantastic rego, when i'm playing at home i get a lot of smoke because the D-slam is 1 mile from my house...T.Pike wrote:

I dont think configs is unfair, because some have good rego, and some dont.
No matter how much you tweak you wont get good rego on all players on every server, all it does is adjust the animations on your screen to fit with the hitboxes... Not the other way around, the hitboxes cant be fixed with.
Changing vehicle names from "F-18" to "F/A-18C Hornet", having Orange text and [+1] boxes are hardly an unfair advantage.
no
a stupid one. what the hell kinda question is that?.:ronin:.|Patton wrote:

Changing DPI on-the-fly could count as an "unfair" advantage on your mouse, but that doesn't mean you're cheating. You paid for the goods, you get the goods.
People that have mics (working mics) have an advantage in the battle. Instead of typing and usually not being read, they can yell "watch out for that claymore!" or "attack chopper ahead. Nose up!"

Indeed, but by using name "tweaking" on topic we would have flame war here by using "changing" they aren't comingrub wrote:

Are you talking about changing the "users profile" in the My Documents\battlefield2 folder? Like changing the latency compensation?
Some people have better eyesight than others and don't need to wear glasses.
And what about people with a hearing deficiency, like with no binaural hearing?
People with 2 ears and 2 eyes are cheating the deaf and the blind!

The file is called User Settings.(T)eflon(S)hadow wrote:

Its not cheating.
If it did work (its never been "proven") - some swear by it, others have tried every setting with no difference, then I would call it an unfair advantage.
