M16 with the silencer for large open maps.  AK47 with silencer for medium maps.  M60 for close-quarter wall blasting maps. 

Pfft on the P90.  I find too many of them lying on the ground after I run out of M60 ammo.

My choice isn't there. I play 360, so it's the RPD. The gun rips stuff to shreds at any range. I've stopped using it now, it made me feel very dirty. M14 FTW, once you get the hang of it. Otherwise, M16/Red Dot/Double Tap or Stopping power does very well (which I now see isn't there either...) I guess I'm picking M14 then.

Reasons:

Very accurate once you ditch the crappy iron sights
Very powerful (two shot kills most of the time)
Correctly used the rate of fire is fine due to firing as fast as possible at close range, and not worrying about recoil at long range.

Only negatives for me are the crap iron sights, high recoil, and possibly to little reserve ammo. I use bandolier though, so it's not much of a problem.

I actually like the SAW and the RPD best - usually because you don't have to reload much and it's more powerful than the MP5, which is the only other full-auto weapon you start off with.

It's not on the list of pickable weapons:  The M249 SAW.  Throw that in with optical sights and the "Stopping Power" perk, and I just love this weapon.  It's the one creatable class that has been around since I began creating classes.  The only changes I've made have been 3 grenades or 3 stun grenades.

"Relatively" large open maps.  Yes, a silencer reduces distance, but it's still damn good at picking off a few enemies from far way before the kill cam gives you away.

Null there isnt one. and btw the p90 sucks donkey nuts. Anyone that uses it is a nub because there are far more dominant guns eg, m4, ak, g3, g36c, on hardcore the scorpion is better.

P90 has fail accuracy, it couldnt hit a 50ft wide wall, the bullets spray everywhere.

I once went 63-17 with a silenced P90 on Crash (Sabatoge.)  So it can't suck too much.

I'm deliberating whether to go into prestige mode or not.

I think I will, so I'll be using the stock weapons for a time, whilst I unlock my favourites.  Should be fun.

yeah i dont really hink the M4 is that great either, but i have read people complaining about it and alot of people use it, also it has fuck all recoil

The P90 is the G36E of cod4 imo, but i love it, my favorite is the M14 though
