Hello together,
here's the problem:
Me and a few guys in the company I work for (20 to be exact), intend to make a small BF2 LAN session after works.
It will be an internal session so no Internet connection is needed as well as no firewall configuration etc.
We have done it before with BF1942 and it worked well. Everybody has a version of BF2, every version is patched to 1.41.
The server files have been downloaded (for Linux and for windows) and have been installed on two different servers (for testing).
Server files are for 1.41 as well. Within our corporate network (CN) we have several sub networks.
So when you start a BF2 game and you are in the same sub net with the server there is no
problem you can choose the server out of the server browser, connect and play.
The problem is when you are in a different sub net. The server does not appear in the server browser and there
is no possibility to connect via the "connect to IP" button because the button does not react when you press it.
Any suggestions how this problem can be solved?
Of course it will work when everybody is in the same sub net with the server but it is a bit difficult for 20 people to sit in the server room :-o
or to move the 19" server rack into the conference room we are sitting in....
Thanks a lot
