The mechs remind me of the mechwarrior days
Hmm, I liked the MechWarrior games way back then....
I really can imagine mysell playing both of 'em, the "realistic" BF2 (with the realistic bunnies and tube-rocketeers ) and the "unrealistic" BF:MW

In fact, since bf tries to be "realistic" and this appears to be far enough in the future that its pure speculation, it most likely would not.
But apples don't fall from lemon trees.
If dice is making it, it will most likely "feel" like a battlefield game.
EX: look at all the incarnations of quake, versus the unreal series.
Both have their own distinct "feel" that permiates each.
A Mechwarrior game would fit perfectly onto some of the BF2 maps, 64 size Daqing Oilfields or Gulf of Oman jump to mind real quick. Lose the jets, keep the helos and add some of the Mechwarrior mechs that would be fun.vonSteuben wrote:

I can remember playing MW and thinking it would be a great online game.
Futuristic never really gets me, although Planetside did, a MMOFPS which had futuristic battles of the magnitude of upto 300vs300 on one continent. Shame the game is nearly dead now a days.

What's wrong with the future? Other people lived through the past so we wouldn't have to, the only thing we have to look forward to is the future... I have no idea why people are so stuck in the past. I saw a poll at one point that showed that people wanted the next BF game to be centered around some war in the past like 1942. NEway looks like sooooo cool, even if it's not gonna be part of the BF family, it certainly looks cool if they're planning to develop this into a game....

Change Karkand and Ghost Town into some nice Citytech maps with the Mechs stomping through the streets.
Oh, that would be so much fun!
