Of China.
I seriously am starting to be afraid of those guys. Think about it..
Socialists who have the fastest growing economy means trouble.
Experts think that by 2050, China will have the most strongest economy, that's right, stronger than America!
My point is not to bag Americans, but to just state the fact that China is on the rise,
and the strongest economy + Socialism =Trouble.
Assuming they dont become democratic..

What do you guys think?

It'll decrease global warming too.

Military wise, you have nothing to worry about. PRC has never sought to invade anyone out of greed or whatnot.
Economy wise, live with it.

Tell us something we don't know about China.
However, I feel those estimates for 2050 are a bit conservative. America is becoming weaker all the time - it's the same sort of conditions now as the Wall Street Crash. It's not solely the growing strength of the Chinese economy, but the weakening/slow growth of the 'old power economies' (USA, Britain, Western Europe, Japan) that is causing China to have a growing influence.
Bear in mind that by 2050 about 50% (I believe that's right - I'm trying to remember something from about a year ago) of the Japanese population will be retired - no country with about 30% of the population working can support that vast amount of pensioners & children. By that time, I believe that the American economy will have collapsed to some extent (more likely greater rather than lesser) & Europe will probably still be on it's eternal slight increase.
Over the following few decades the world economic conditions will be perfect for a new power economy to emerge - and China is superbly placed to take advantage of these conditions.
And don't be so scared of Socialism (as others have said, they aren't Socialist - more a mongrel breed of different political ideals) - even China doesn't truly know what it is in terms of politics. China's in a permanent relative state of flux in terms of government, and this is not necessarily a bad thing.
Another thing to think about is that if the rest of the world becomes crippled, so will China. In their current state, China relies of trade to foreign countries and if America becomes crippled then they will lose a large market to sell to. This would in turn destroy China. If China were to become the/a dominant power economy then it would have to adapt itself completely - and very quick. If they don't, they'd have an extremely short lived dominance and would implode upon their growth.
Russia are a dark horse to be watching for with their fuel industries - they may well will use this as leverage to gain a lot of strength as America wanes. Britain and Europe won't be able to do anything - and indeed, just wouldn't even if they could. But watch out for potential revolution and a bloody battle for power between Oligarchs coming to the forefront of Russia.

In summary - there really isn't a great outlook for this. I really have just recited this off the top of my head on what I thought about for a speech a year ago. If anyone wants to take any of this forward - be my guest!

All the best,
Andy

On one hand why should America lead allways the world ? Im happy about that other countries will overcome the USA. It enough that America is thinking that he is the world leader just because they were lucky in both world wars. USA was safe all the time because it was far and no enemy was able to attack or destroy its industry. Yes during the Cold war it was a crisis but a big war never happend in the USA since the north and south civil war. If you chek Europe you see that there is no big distance between teh countries and there is no Ocean.
Thats the main reason that the allies could bomb Nazi Germany in WW2.

On the other hand China is communist state and just think about how big the populution is. They can make a big army like the Russians in WW2.
I think they are became stronger then the Russians and they can easily attack or invade the eastern part from siberia whats northern to China.
This is bad and dont forget that the key of success is that China is working for the world. Why do i say this ?
Please just put up your mouse and turn around and you will see "MADE IN CHINA" or some country from Asia. Today nearly 80% of the products are made in Asia.

I hope there wont be any conflicts with China and remember tehre will be the olympic games.

Hmm.. I don't think their socialists..

I don't think China will be much of a military threat (to other nations) in the near future, but from an economic point of view I'd say that the current global market is going to need a new approach on things. Wonder why stuff is cheap? Because it's made in countries with cheap labour and high resources.

With the Chinese economy rapidly growing, I suppose it won't be long until the labour force will revolt (as you might or might not know, labour unions are forbidden in China), causing a civil war stagnating Chinese production. That's possible horror scenario 1. This would not only slow down global economy, but possibly even bring it to a standstill, the U.S.A being the first to suffer the consequences (China's exports being huge to the U.S. and is a big purchaser of U.S. State Bonds).

The other scenario, which will happen be there revolting or not, is that the standard of living will eventually rise in China to a level where the price of goods becomes less and less lucrative for foreign investors. Of course at this point Chinese businesses have expanded their operations abroad to "western countries", but the question will be: "Where can we produce good low-priced goods now?"

Maybe something good could come out of that, and lead to investments in the African labor market, in turn leading to their own "China effect".

Should we be scared? I don't think so. Will China attack a country in the future? Hardly, but you never know, "western countries" do it all the time. Should countries come up with taxation/customs- or other solutions in order to keep the market stable, while simultaneously allowing the positive economic development to happen globally? Yes. Definitely.

People have known about China's new increasing economy for years (recent I mean). Plus, as I always keep saying, economic ties between US, China etc are too strong to be destroyed... the countries rely on one another for many things.

Communism: an ideology that seeks to establish a classless, stateless social organization based on common ownership of the means of production

China: Authoritarian state with a class society where the bulk of the population have no freedom of speech.

..as an example.

But we'll discuss the difference between socialism, communism and the fact that these both exist only in theory and that we have yet to see a country which has implemented the aforementioned ideologies correctly, later.

Socialists and communists can be elected (although not in china).

Socialism is nothing to be scared of, although we have yet to see it implemented in true form yet. A lot of the common perceptions of socialism are myths.

A good book to read on socialism is "The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists" by Robert Tressell. It is a story about a group of painters and decorators sufferring under the brutal upper classes at around 1905 in Britain. It is based on real experiences of the folk of the time and is still relevant today. In it, it outlines the Co-operative Commonwealth, a true and practical implementation plan for socialism.

The thing people should be aware of is once true socialism is implemented for the first time there will not be much to stop it, no capitalist nation can compete with a nation that is not ruled by ruthless self gain. That is not to say the citizens of that nation do not prosper.

Again, not much of this actually applies to china. I'm just saying don't be afraid of something that you don't know much about.

Sometimes the number of misconceptions and falsities thrown around here is mind-bogling, so I'll try and clear up some of those before stating my opinion.  A perfect example being that nuking anyone solves nothing in the modern day and age.

If you're going to quote "Experts", please provide a source or else declare is as your own opinion. China (#4) is certainly on the rise, but in terms of GDP remains behind the USA (#1), Japan (#2) and Germany (#3) according to the World Bank and in fact if we look at IMF data the EU has greater nominal GDP than that of the United States. How far this Chinese rise will go is debatable, but certainly they're generally seen as an 'emerging superpower' and so competition with the United States is inevitable.

China is generally classed as a 'Socialist Republic' because it has a centrally run and planned government and economy that retains element of a market system. In the theory of ideological transition put forward by Karl Marx, 'Socialism' is the transitional stage following 'Capitalism' that prepares and works towards achieving 'Communism' which in pure form is marked by the absence of any government.

The labour force in China will not revolt, the rising material standard of living that extends out country-wide, in combination with government propaganda, and a large military makes any kind of revolutionary change very difficult.

Their economic power must eventually be limited by the Yuan coming off of a fixed exchange rate. Currently pegged within a certain trading range, this means the Yuan is not truly floating like other major world currencies and keeps the exchange rate attractive for Chinese exports.

In 1959 the PRC annexed Tibet and later established the TAR (Tibet Autonomous Region) which puts paid to any claim that the PRC has never invaded anyone.

The established world order, including the United States, the European Union and Japan must deal with the rise of China and India and the rest of what would once have been called the developing world. If we look at the world's GDP as a whole (100%), this does not change, despite the fact the actual nominal amount of GDP will be increasing over time. This means that as nations like China and India expand at annual rates approaching and sometimes exceeding 10% their share of world GDP will increase. The nations that have the most to lose from this are those who sit at the top of the current order, US, EU, Japan, Germany, France and the UK. Part of the development and globalisation of the world is accepting that as part of comparative advantage your country will be able to keep some industries and sectors (that will be relatively strong) and some will go offshore where they can be done faster and cheaper and better. A great amount of this is going on as China grows and offers such cheap labour, but it cannot last forever, as the eventual de-pegging of the Yuan will show.

Yes, China is on the rise, and the associated influence, economic and military power are coming with it, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

China has too many political problems to become really powerful, every one in 26 person is somehow working for the government.

What i mean by being scared of socialism is that if they grow so much to the point where they are the biggest superpower in the world, it just takes a finger point from the prime minister for a invasion. I know its unlikely but you never know there is always a threat. Thats what i mean by this whole thread. Sorry for confusion.
