I hope the Russian subs and their inhabitants decompose because of that.Expedition leaders have said their main worry is to resurface at the ice hole where they dived as the mini-submersibles are not strong enough to break through the North Pole's ice cap.

Well, I'd be ok with increasing military activity if we were focusing on a real threat like Russia.usmarine2005 wrote:

"An expedition aimed at strengthening Russia's claim to much of the oil and gas wealth beneath the Arctic Ocean reached the North Pole on Wednesday, and preparations immediately began for two mini-submarines to drop a capsule containing a Russian flag to the sea floor."
"The U.S. Congress is considering an $8.7 billion budget reauthorization bill for the U.S. Coast Guard that includes $72.96 million to operate and maintain the nation's three existing polar icebreakers."

Stalingrad was won because of the demoralizing precision of Russian snipers. And Winter.Turquoise wrote:

It's not that they suck, it's just that they don't usually have enough supplies or keep their equipment in optimal condition. They're quite good at defensive battles though.

Good points... but I guess, for all practical purposes, it means the same thing. If your country is so harsh in terrain and weather, you effectively have good defenses.stryyker wrote:

And think about it, their war track record isn't good at all. I mean I love my homeland and all, but meh.
and I know that they don't suck.
