i just did a bit of single arm weights. i took off my shirt, and i have just noticed a lot of red long cuts everywhere around the top of both my arms.. (i didn't do them myself - i'm not emo) - is this.. common? :S

Defiantly stretch marks. Can happen when you gain weight either in fat or muscle. They will fade after a while but never completely disappear.
