Am I to believe that this is a picture of an aircraft carrier in a lake that has no outlets and is only just big enough to contain it?

'Flying' aircraft carrier in China, near Shanghai. Supposedly the Chinese built it in a lake because it it able to take off and fly.
Or maybe they just fucked up.

correct
it is a full scale mock up of the USS Nimitz class. Notice the Chinese aircraft on deck. It is not an aircraft carrier. It is not even a ship. I hope you didn't look too long in the states?!!

The reason there are so many US carriers is that it is illegal for the US to sell capital ships to foreign powers. So all cruisers, battleships and carriers are either scapped, sunk as a reef or target or turned into museums.
