Total Freeze

Just installed PR 0.6, i go to play any map, on any server, and 5 seconds in, my system totally freezes. This happened with 0.5 too.

any ideas?

Have u got "EAX" enabled in your Audio Options? I had it on and kept getting CTD's whilst playing BF2, 2142 and PR. It wasn't until someone on a random thread on an even more random site saying turning it off helped them; it helped me (no more CTD's) and maybe it will help you.

I have this same problem with BF2. It doesn't happen in any other game. I'm gonna upgrade my PSU and see if that helps, i think for some reason BF2 is making my stuff suck more juice than other shit (I can play HL2 no problem, even ArmA and that's intensive)

Lower your settings. Do a virus/spyware check. Clean your PC (physically, too, dust = heat) and if that fails it could be your PSU. PR is more intensive than BF2 aswell.

Bump.

I think i've fixed my BF2-only freezing problem. I manually updated PB and everything seems to work fine! I noticed this when i could play SP without freezing and only got Freezing whilst playing MP.

Well Chuffed. Haven't even got my new PSU yet (thought that was the problem) but a new PSU won't do any harm!

Aye, I was getting shocking lag last night, I was like wtf! - PB needed to be updated and it's sweet after that..

Grrr...fucking PB.

So it started freezing again. And wouldn't you know, PB said it needs to be updated. So I update it. Then i think "hmm" so i click "update" again. FUCKING it says it needs to be updated AGAIN.

So there's the problem. PB keeps thinking it needs to be updated. Bollocks. So it keeps trying in-game and freezing me. Even though I also manually updated PB by directly downloading the latest files, it still says i need to update!
